The View’s Whoopi Goldberg Gets A Taste of Her Own Medicine After Insulting A-Lister Guest

Whoopi Goldberg was shocked during a recent episode of The View when one of the guests clapped back at one of her comments!

This week’s episode of The View saw Whoopi, 67, return to the talk show after she got COVID earlier this month. During the episode, the ladies of The View had legendary singer, Ms. Patti LaBelle, as a guest. Patty, 78, and Whoopi got into it after one of the hosts of the show asked LaBelle if she had to cook for any difficult people in her time. That’s when Patti pointed to Whoopi and said, “I got someone who never ate anything green to eat kale. On my cooking show, Whoopi ate kale for the first time in her life!”

Goldberg responded with a look of disgust on her face, “And the last time!” Patti added, “But she tried it!” Whoopi interrupted and called out the singer for getting people to do things they don’t want to. “But I tried it. Patti is good for getting you to try stuff that you don’t want to try,” Whoopi said.

The View host also explained her picky palate regarding food and anything green. “I don’t like anything. My list is very small. Nothing green.” Patti then fired back at her long-time friend, “She likes green money!” Which sent the entire panel of co-hosts and the audience into laughter.

Whoopi returned to the show on Monday after getting COVID for the second time this year. She talked about how “rough” it was dealing with COVID this time for her.  The show’s moderator said, “You can get boosted within an inch of your life, and then the next thing you know you got COVID again. But I don’t have it now that’s why I’m back at the table.”

Goldberg and co-host, Sunny Hostin, whose mother was briefly hospitalized after getting RSV, urged people to wear masks to avoid getting sick or infecting others. Sunny pointed out that over the weekend, she flew to Florida and was shocked when no one on the plane was wearing masks. 

“You know when we wore our masks, everybody was mad but nobody got sick. Now we’ve taken the masks off, and all the stuff that used to happen to us all the time is happening again,” Whoopi added. Whoopi also told viewers that if they want to protect themselves, they will have to keep the masks on a little longer. However, some viewers on Twitter didn’t like being told to wear masks for their own safety.

One person said, “@TheView show is playing with fire with false info. Are no facts when masks came off there was more covid cases, nothing to do with masks. It’s a virus that picked up with cooler temperatures. Nothing to do with masks. And whoopi,sunny said otherwise. Need to correct themselves.”
