‘Welcome To Plathville’ Black Sheep Claims Family Tried To Blackmail & Silence Her
Welcome To Plathville star, Olivia Plath, and her younger sister, Lydia Meggs, have been estranged for years. However, recently, the sisters have been working towards repairing their strained relationship.
In a sit-down interview with realiteasquad, Lydia gets honest about the Plath family and how her older sister, Olivia, is portrayed on the show.
“I mean, as her sister, I am going to be biased. But at the end of the day, I have her back. I think that she’s changed a lot and I only know that because we never used to get along at all,” Lydia expressed before adding that being on reality TV makes it hard to be liked all the time.
Lydia said that Olivia has changed a lot and is a much different person than she was growing up. She shares that it wasn’t always easy growing up with Olivia and that she kept her distance from her sister, until recently.
“She used to be very much like my mother, very narcissistic, very manipulative,” Lydia said. “Now I know, as a young adult, you learn that behavior from somewhere so at the end of the day I don’t think she is blameless.”
Lydia opened up about how hard and painful it is to have controlling parents. She added that Olivia witnessing the Plath kids work on their relationship with their parents, Barry and Kim, is hard because she can’t do the same with her own parents. Lydia also said that during their childhood, she never shared a close bond with her sister because she felt Olivia never accepted her.
“Olivia and I have never gotten along up until six months ago and that’s because we have always been very similar, and she was a lot like my mom, and she knows it,” Lydia said. “I was very much the black sheep in my family and so Olivia used to keep an eye on me.”
Lydia admitted that she never watched Welcome To Plathville until she and Olivia rekindled their relationship. However, in the short time she began watching the show, she cringed because she’s known the Plaths before they became a reality TV family.
Though Lydia is leery of her and Olivia’s newfound relationship, she’s trusting the process and looking forward to seeing where things go. As for the Plaths, Lydia wants to leave the past in the past.
