Ever since Frank, 59, suffered a stroke in July, fans of the television star have complained that his Illinois antique store, Frank Fritz Finds, has gone downhill. One google review read, “I was a huge fan of the show. I stopped in to give Frank support and see what all the buzz was about. The place looked like an episode of hoarders… Food was cold and bland. Staff was rude. Just disappointing. How is this place in business?”

Close friends of the star have stepped in to help him save his business while he recovers from his stroke.

According to court documents obtained by The Sun, Frank’s close friends filed an emergency appointment of temporary guardian and conservatorship on August 18, claiming his decision-making ability was impaired. The papers also reveal a plan to restock the Frank Fritz Finds antique store in an effort to improve the customer’s experience at the store. The docs filed by conservator MidWestOne Bank read, “The conservator has not yet inventoried those items but plans to leave them largely as they are now, with the exception of stocking Mr. Fritz’s antique store in Savannah, IL as needed.”

Another customer review on Google stated that the antique store had nothing to see other than junk. “Besides the few motorcycles, the store is truly full of hoarders’ junk. I was looking forward to visiting Frank’s Finds but, left disappointed… This store is full of overpriced junk and old oil cans signed by Frank for $55 – $110 each. I will pass,” the review read. Before the American Pickers star suffered his stroke, fans were pleased with his antique store and recommended it to others. The documents also state that the conservator will invest Frank’s assets to generate money to pay for his medical and living expenses.

A checking account will also be opened for Frank with a small balance for his personal use. The conservator will also work with the guardian to integrate Fritz into management decisions as he continues to recover. When asked how long the conservatorship will last, the bank responded with “unknown.” Frank has been in a rehabilitation center since he was released from the hospital on September 6. One of Frank’s longtime friends, who has been assisting him in decision-making since his stroke was chosen as his guardian. By the time he’s discharged from the rehab center, his Iowa farmhouse will have to be fitted with ramps and handles for the shower and toilet. Frank’s guardian will help him with his Crohn’s disease and physical therapy.
