Andy Cohen Explains Ramona Singer’s Exit From ‘RHONY’
Andy Cohen weighed in on Ramona Singer announcing she was quitting The Real Housewives of New York.
During his Sirus XM radio show on Wednesday, Andy said that people saw Ramona’s exit coming. Cohen, 50, joked, “It’s interesting, [it’s] one of those hilarious things of the internet, which is, every time it was mentioned, it was ‘Please, no Ramona.’ You go on Twitter, ‘Get rid of Ramona!” He continued, “But the second Ramona announces she’s leaving, ‘Nooo, Ramona’s a legend!’ Like, it’s so funny. It’s so funny.”
Cohen did thank Ramona, 65, for giving the network many years of incredible television. “I had a great conversation with her about this a few weeks ago and she was — I think she’s very bullish on what she has going on in her life right now. I’m going to leave it there.” Singer told Page Six the show just wasn’t for her anymore. “I do not want to do the show any longer. It’s not for me at this time.” However, other sources said Ramona didn’t quit she just wasn’t asked to return by producers because of how she spoke about the Real Housewives of New York Legacy series.
During Singer’s interview with Carlos King on Reality with the King last month, she spoke about joining the series. “But I also feel like the ‘Legacy’ [show], how could it be really good? The people they are gonna bring back are the people they didn’t want to renew anyways,” she said. Ramona also joked that the new show should be called, ‘The Loser Show’ or ‘Loser Legacy.’ Bravo fans responded to the star’s exit from the show on Twitter.
One person said, “Ramona Singer can’t be on TV doing the same old shit forever. It’s time for her to go. She was literally in the press trashing her employer lol. Get over it and move on.”
Another fan defended the network’s decision. “It is weird to have a Legacy show without a OG cast member but, Ramona is TRASH. I been wanted her fired her behavior is completely unacceptable and she’s a Trump supporter.” Just like Andy said, some longtime fans are furious about Ramona’s exit. One fan noted, “It’s a crazy concept to me how Bravo won’t have Ramona in Legacy, when she was literally the only cast member they consistently brought back season after season, but instead they’ll have all these people they fired in the past. I can’t picture a #RHONY installment without Ramona.”
