The Bachelorette’s Gabby Windey Breaks Silence On Split From Erich Schwer
Gabby Windey is finally opening up about her split from fiancé Erich Schwer.
The Bachelorette star told People that they just weren’t each other’s best match. During the recent episode of Dancing with the Stars, Windey, 31, opened up about her failed relationship and what she thinks of love now. Gabby is a contestant on the dancing show alongside pro partner Val Chmerkovsky. Before she went on to perform the waltz, the reality star said, “For me, [love] holds a special place because I did just go through a breakup.” Windey added that her relationship with Schwer, 29, ended because they weren’t in sync with each other’s lives.
“The end of our relationship happened because we weren’t completely in step and in sync with each other on our common goals or just the way we approach life. We weren’t each other’s best match,” Windey explained. The Bachelorette star also said that her father and stepmother’s relationship influenced her decision to end the romance with Erich. The Dancing with the Stars contestant added, “I’m just so grateful that my dad and my stepmom encompass so many fundamentals and values that I look for in a relationship: never placing blame or you did this or that. OK, someone left the microwave dirty,” she continued. “But, like, it doesn’t matter.”
Gabby said that she hoped to channel that kind of everlasting love in her dance. Fans had begun to speculate about the former couple’s relationship after Erich wasn’t seen in the Dancing with the Stars ballroom, despite being there to show support during the early days. Gabby had told reporters that it was amazing to have Erich in the audience watching her. “Just me being excited to perform for him, and him to see a different side of me that we don’t get to share with each other every day,” she said. Gabby confirmed her split from Schwer in early November, which was less than two months after she accepted his proposal on the season 19 finale of The Bachelorette.
When asked by Fox News if she and Erich were still together, Gabby said they were focusing on their individual goals. “I think life is just really busy for the both of us right now. So, I understand their concern but we’re just kinda, you know, going forward with each of our individual interests and supporting each other from afar.”
