‘Sister Wives’ Kody and Robyn Brown Accused of Scamming Janelle Out of Her Money, Leaving Her Trapped!

Sister Wives fans are fuming that Janelle Brown has no assets of her own due to funding Robyn Brown’s luxurious lifestyle.

During the November 13th episode of Sister Wives, Janelle Brown revealed some shocking news about the state of her finances and how Kody Brown prioritizes Robyn’s needs over his other wives.

Janelle’s RV Struggles

The TLC reality series documents Janelle Brown’s struggles living in an RV, on the family’s land, with no electricity and no water for her and her daughter, Savanah Brown.

Janelle spoke about her extreme living conditions during a recent episode. Press play below to watch.

Kody [Brown] has never been engaged in my housing since we moved here.” Janelle stated in a talking head confessional, during the November 13th episode.

Janelle also shared her desire to build a house by Savanah’s senior year of high school. However, Kody said they can’t build homes on Coyote Pass until they pay off existing loans for the land. This poses a conundrum for Janelle, who feels that she’s gotten herself into a “stupid position.”

Janelle’s Trapped With No Assets

Janelle explained that she can’t leave her spiritual husband, Kody Brown, 53, because she has no assets in her name.

“I have gotten myself into a very stupid position as far as an independent woman,” Janelle said during the Sunday, November 13 episode. “If I were to leave, or want to leave right now, I would have no estate. I have nothing to leave to my kids. My hands are completely tied.” Janelle explained in a talking head confessional.

She added, “Cause everything I have asset-wise has everybody else’s name on it too.”

Janelle continued, “He was mad when I went from my first rental to my second rental, even though the second rental was much bigger, he was mad because it wasn’t as nice. But you know what, he has a house that he lives in up on the hill with Robyn and it’s really nice, and I have NOTHING, so I’m trying hard to build myself something here.”

Robyn Lives Like A Queen

Janelle divulged that when she sold her Vegas home, she gave half of the proceeds to Robyn, towards the purchase of Robyn and Kody’s $900,000 house in Flagstaff.

While Robyn lives like a queen in her luxurious 4,400 sqft, 5-bedroom, 4-bath home — Janelle enjoys more humble accommodations in a RV.

“Honestly, I gave half the proceeds from my house in Vegas to Robyn to help purchase this house that she’s in currently. We also, at this time, pooled a lot of money from the joint family account to help get her into that house.” Janelle told the camera.

“We have a family account and the same amount of money is in it, as when we bought Robyn’s house and it was okay to deplete at that point to pay for Robyn’s house. And I’m like, we did it for Robyn… we did it for Christine, why can it not be my turn?” Janelle asked herself in a talking head confessional.

Fan Reaction

Sister Wives fans have strong reactions of anger, shock, or indignation to Janelle’s financial predicament. They sounded off on social media.

Wow I feel so bad for Janelle. She was the main breadwinner, gave her equity to help buy Robyn’s house and now has nothing?!?” One fan wrote.

An observant viewer stated, “So.. Robyn the stay at home wife who’s living in a mansion with a nanny can use Janelles money.. but Janelle, the hard working wife living in a trailer can not use her own money??”

Another person wrote, “Holy smokes … so JANELLE WHO HAS ALWAYS WORKED has less assets than stay at home Robyn ? Wtaf”

Someone else stated, “Why would Robyn ever expect these women to like her when she has literally taken all their money for her house and her debts from a previous marriage and now janelle is trapped.”

Janelle Brown

“WHAT???? Half of the proceeds from Janelle’s house went to Robyn to buy that house?? And now they won’t lift a single finger to help her? That is BS.” Another fan tweeted.

One person commented, “Wait 1 damn minute. Janelle gave Robyn half the money from her Vegas house sale plus money from the joint family account to buy her and Kody’s big ass house. Kody b***h, you forgot that part when talking about what you gave Christine for her house.”

Another noted, “So now we know why Janelle hasn’t left Kody. She doesn’t own a home. The proceeds of Janelle’s Vegas home were put into Robyn and Christine’s houses. “I have nothing to leave to my kids. I have no estate.””

A critic pointed out, “I’m sorry but it pisses me off that Janelle has sacrificed and provided money to get Robyn in a home TWICE! But now there’s a problem to get Janelle in a home of her home? But Kody is quick to say it’s not always about Robyn & her kids??”

Kody and Robyn Scamming Janelle?

Some fans believe Janelle Brown is being financially scammed by Kody and Robyn Brown.

“At this point, if Janelle continues to let herself be scammed by Kody and Robyn (that’s all this is), that’s on her. Hopefully she finds the courage Christine did to leave this raging butm. Meri just wants to sit around and play the eternal victim.” An astute fan pointed out.

Another person noticed, “What Kody and Robyn is doing to Janelle is financial abuse. And how do you have money to have one wife (who has never worked outside or inside the home) to have a million dollar house & pay a nanny for two children?”

Kody and Robyn Own Most of Coyote Pass

Kody bought four parcels of land called Coyote Pass in Flagstaff for $820,000 in 2018. The patriarch divided the land into five parcels among his wives: Meri Brown, 51, Janelle Brown, 53, now-ex-wife Christine Brown, 50, and Robyn Brown, 44, to build homes on the property.

However, the acres of land on Coyote Pass were not divided equally among his wives.

According to Coconino County deed records, Robyn owns 52.3% of the land, Janelle owns 32.2%, and Meri owns 15.5%. Each of the wive’s acres are jointly owned by Kody, with his name appearing on the deed for each parcel of land. This gives Robyn and Kody majority ownership of the property.
