Kandi Burruss and husband, Todd Tucker, have been slapped with a lawsuit involving the Real Housewives of Atlanta star’s restaurant, Old Lady Gang, in relation to a shooting that took place in 2020.

A woman named Kiya Humphries filed the lawsuit against the eatery on behalf of herself and her daughter, Tammy Johnson. She also sued the owners of the shopping center where Old Lady Gang was located and the center’s hired security team, according to court documents obtained by Radar Online.

Humphries and her then 14-year-old daughter entered the restaurant on February 14, 2020, with Humphries’ two other children and another relative. She stated in the suit that one of the family members heard a loud disturbance in the parking lot outside the business’ entrance. Things took a violent turn after the family entered the restaurant, according to the docs.

“While waiting to be seated at Old Lady Gang, a man wearing a red tracksuit entered Old Lady Gang and was near the front of the restaurant,” the lawsuit read. “Shortly afterward, a second man entered Old Lady Gang.”

“The man wearing the red tracksuit began shooting. Kiya Humphries was shot in the right calf.”

Humphries’ injuries reportedly required medical attention, including multiple surgeries, as well as therapy and counseling.

Kiya Humphries has experienced severe physical and emotional pain and suffering as a result of the gunshot wound, she sustained,” the suit stated.

Humphries “will continue to experience severe physical and emotional pain and suffering as a result of the gunshot wound she sustained.”

Tammy Johnson was also injured.

The lawsuit claimed that the property owners should have beefed up security in light of past incidents of crime, in the years prior to the 2020 shooting. The suit pointed out that there had been numerous other criminal incidents at the shopping center, such as robberies and assaults. Kandi’s restaurant stands accused of negligence for not putting appropriate security measures in place, despite the location’s history with dangerous outbreaks of crime.

In September, gunfire erupted inside Blaze Steak & Seafood, another Atlanta eatery owned by the famous couple. Local news reported that two employees were involved in a fight that led to one of the staffers pulling a gun and firing at the other’s arm. The victim was taken to the local hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries.” The shooting victim was later identified as Kandi’s cousin, Melvin Jones.

Henry Darden, 41, was arrested shortly after he fled the scene of the alleged crime, the Bravo star’s restaurant.

Darden was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a  convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies.

Melvin later took to social media to reveal graphic photos of his injury, including one photo that showed a large chunk of flesh missing from under his arm.
