Safaree Samuels Admits He LIED About Sleeping With Lyrica For A Storyline On ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta!’
Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star, Safaree Samuels, admitted that he and rapper, A1 Bentley, came up with the lie about Safaree sleeping with Lyrica Anderson just for ratings!
On Thursday, Safaree came clean about the rumor after a sneak peek of the upcoming “Where Are They Now” special showed him and Ray J talking about the incident. In the clip, Ray says that he found out Samuels and Lyrica had slept together. The Jamaican native said, “Hey man, do you really think I would do that?” Then Sprng BRK, formerly known as A1, responds, “Did you do that?” Meanwhile, Lyrica is heard shouting, “What the f**k’s going on?!” Anderson said in the clip that the rumor really affected her marriage to her now ex-husband, A1.
Safaree wrote on Twitter, “I just want to make it clear that Lyrica and I have never even come close to messing around. Lowkey, me and A1 made the whole thing up. We are on TV. We had a job to do, and we did it. That’s my brother & sister right der. It’s TV tho duh.” In another post, the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star apologized to Lyrica for lying and added that he didn’t mean to take things so far. “It wasn’t was supposed to go as far as it did so just wanna say sorry to you @lyricaanderson because I didn’t know it bothered you. I’m not gonna lie tho that was the most fun I ever had filming tho Me & A1 use to be crying love y’all.”
The reality star said the only good thing that came from the lie was Ray J’s hat challenge that went viral. Lyrica responded and said that even though it was a joke to Safaree, the rumor was tough to go through and it humiliated her. She said, “Now Safaree has apologized to me privately, and I’m happy that he’s now done it publicly. I am in a positive place in my life and have no room for negativity. Hopefully, now we can put this situation to rest. Blessings.” Lyrica’s mother called out Samuels for lacking integrity and stooping so low just for a check.
Still, Safaree blamed Ray for making the issue much bigger than it had to be. “Y’all put “falsely stating” I would neverrrrr lie about being with a woman. that’s high school. The way they edit the show and @rayj great acting is what sold it more than anything else. I blame ray.”
