Bethenny Frankel Says She SAVED Sonja Morgan From Getting Fired From ‘Real Housewives of New York!’

Bethenny Frankel revealed during her first podcast episode of ReWives that she helped Sonja Morgan stay on the reality show during season 10. 

Real Housewives of New York alum, Frankel, shocked listeners when she spoke about how she saved Sonja’s job on the Bravo show. She said on the Thursday episode, “Years later, one of the producers, I will not say who, in the car said, ‘I think we have to let Sonja go.” Bethenny explained that at the time, Sonja had become a disaster while filming and only focused on her ongoing townhouse problems and various business endeavors. Frankel then described how she helped her co-star stay on the show by stirring the pot. 

The SkinnyGirl founder added, “There was a scene at a restaurant called Cherry, a sushi restaurant, where I just light a match about her and Tinsley [Mortimer].” During that time, Sonja was staying with Tinsley as she was navigating her divorce and an arrest. Morgan got her on season 9 of The Real Housewives of New York and she managed to get back on her feet. “Tinsley started out living in Sonja’s townhouse and was basically a nobody who had been arrested. By up to that point, she had this rich guy sending flowers, and Sonja’s poor and bankrupt. I said something to stir that up, and it lit up Sonja, and she launched and she did not get let go.”

Bethenny told her co-host, Elizabeth Moss, that what she was saying was 100% true and added that that was the night Sonja resurrected herself. “That is an absolute fact. I have the receipts,” she said. Moss asked her co-host if she ever told Morgan or her Real Housewives of New York co-stars about this news before revealing it during the podcast. “The girls, they wouldn’t have cared. They wouldn’t have believed it. But the producers will back it up. A thousand percent,” Bethenny claimed. As for Morgan, Bethenny said she “probably doesn’t know but she would totally believe her because she trusts her.”

Sonja was on The Real Housewives of New York since season 3 and has remained a staple on the show since. Bethenny was on the reality show since season1 but left during season 3 before returning for season 7 then finally leaving the franchise before season 12.
