‘RHOSLC’ RECAP: Heather Gay Snaps After Whitney Rose Defends Lisa Barlow
‘RHOSLC’ RECAP: Heather Gay Snaps After Whitney Rose Defends Lisa Barlow
During the November 9th episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Jen Shah confronts Angie Harrington at Heather Gay’s choir auditions and chaos erupts. Lisa Barlow recommits to her faith amid the drama. And Whitney Rose confronts Heather about being a bad friend.
The episode picks up at Heather Gay’s auditions for her choir, and the fireworks explode outside between Jen Shah and Angie Harrington. Jen feels it’s a slap in the face for Heather to have Angie there after Angie’s husband, Chris Harrington, confessed to being behind a troll account, “@Shahxposed” on Instagram.
Outside the audition, Angie Katsanevas and Angie H. hash out the fake online account allegations. Angie K. tells Angie H. she’s wrong for creating a fake account to harass Lisa Barlow. Angie H. denies opening the finsta account and won’t cop to anything. Whitney Rose enters the chat and learns about the fake account for the first time. “I feel really icky and silly right now being in a matching costume with Angie,” she says.
Jen Shah gets pulled into the fight and straight up tells Angie H. she’s “full of shit — you know what your husband does,” Jen begins to spiral and unravel at Angie’s convenient amnesia while someone sings, “Amazing Grace,” inside the venue.
Jen returns inside in tears and Heather is over the BS and the show must go on. “This is becoming ridiculous,” Heather says in a talking head confessional. “Jen Shah is in a washing machine of turmoil because she’s been indicted on federal charges with a prison sentence looming, not because she’s getting trolled by Chris Harrington on Instagram.”
A distraught Jen rants and raves about Heather’s disloyalty to Lisa. Jen calls her materialistic and says Heather’s only siding with Angie H. because she thinks her “Elf on the Shelf husband, will put her on a yacht.”
Back at the auditions, Lisa Barlow tries out and sings “Away In A Manger” — the nursery version. Then Angie Harrington and Whitney did a cute little broadway number. Afterwards, Jen Shah, Whitney Rose, Meredith Marks, Lisa Barlow, and Angie H. and Angie K. chop it up and attempt to clear the air.
Angie H. seems to be getting it and sort of apologizes to Jen but not Lisa, who gets irritated and jumps up to storm out. “You can’t just say, ‘Sorry’ — you keep doing the same thing over and over,” Lisa yells at Angie. Angie H. is like slow your roll, and reminds Lisa about her nasty tweeting habits. Lisa had tweeted about Heather’s father’s obituary. Lisa claims that she tweeted about Heather’s father’s death to clear her name after Heather lied about her.
Heather then tells Lisa that she has no friends left, this sparks Lisa to question the ladies, “Who’s not my friend here? Raise your hand.” Only Heather and Angie H. raise their hands. Heather and Lisa continue to go back and forth about the tweet, “What the eff was that?” Angie mumbles as she exits the venue.
Lisa & John
Lisa and John go out to dinner, and the waiter suggests a Vida cocktail, saying it’s been one of their best sellers. “I don’t think this guy realizes that we own Vida Tequila. And no, he’s not on our payroll,” she says in a confessional. (Insert eye-roll emoji here).
Lisa updates John on her sister’s struggles since divorcing, and John reassures her that while she can have empathy, she does not have to carry the weight of their emotional baggage. Lisa mentions God has always helped her through these struggles — and wants to focus on her relationship with the Almighty God more. “I’m very important to God,” she says.
Sharrieff Defends His Wife
Jen and Sharrieff are at home relaxing. Jen updates Sharrieff on the drama with Angie Harrington at the auditions. She explains that Angie took no accountability for the fake social media account created to troll her.
Sharrieff is disgusted that Chris Harrington would go “so low” to harass Jen online because the stress could lead to self-harm amid her legal troubles. Sharrieff doesn’t think Jen is strong enough to handle the massive amount of negative backlash from the public. Jen explains how she was hurt by Heather’s response to the situation. Sharrieff suggests it’s time to reevaluate her friendships.
Whitney & Lisa Meet
Whitney and Lisa meet in the park for a play date with their kids. After shooting some hoops, the ladies chat about Justin’s loss of employment (due to Whitney’s raunchy antics). Whitney explains that she’s now the sole bread winner, while Justin plays Mr. Mom. Lisa shares that she needs a shift amid the friendship drama.
Lisa rehashes her issues with Heather. Lisa has no problem putting people in check but feels Heather takes no accountability in their rift. Whitney understands all too well since she’s on the outs with Heather as well. Whitney says that she values Heather’s friendship but she’s coming to the realization that it may be time to walk away. Whitney doesn’t understand the uncomfortable space between the two of them. Lisa brings up wanting a stronger relationship with God.
Whitney Confronts Heather
Whitney pays Heather a visit and the energy is awkward considering the two have been distant since the Arizona trip. Heather starts explaining how busy she’s been, and Whitney opens the discussion by saying she’s not there to fight, then says “Why am I chasing Heather down?” That’s probably not a good way to start the conversation. Heather explains that she’s trying to be there for Whitney but acknowledges her missteps in Arizona.
Whitney feels Heather doesn’t understand how much she’s been going through, espcially discovering her childhood trauma. Whitney is harboring pain over being ignored by Heather. Whitney mentions Heather did not reach out when Justin loss his job. Heather claims she had no clue Justin was fired.
Then Heather brings up her beef with Lisa Barlow and Whitney starts defending Lisa, much to Heather’s surprise.
“We were both making progress with Lisa and now I feel like, ‘Well, s**t! How is this going to work for me?'” Whitney asks in regards to Lisa posting “receipts” on social media to prove she was supportive of Heather at the time of her father’s death.
“The whole Twitter thing came out of nowhere, and I was upset with her about that, too,” Whitney tells Heather, “but she also felt like she was defending herself, and I can’t argue that. We’re not hearing Lisa’s side of it, and she’s accused of being a liar.”
Heather is totally confused that Whitney is taking up for Lisa, especially when Heather has been there for Whitney in the past.
“We’re not, Whitney, because she is a liar,” Heather replies. “She wasn’t there for me when my dad died, and I love how you’re bringing up how right she was with the way she hurt me.”
Whitney tries to interrupt, but Heather is crushed by Whitney’s loyalty to Lisa. Heather feels Whitney does not listen to her feelings, and is exploiting the situation to make her look bad.
“Just listen to me!” Heather yells. “Listen to my feelings. Even though I’m good with my words, I also have feelings that I would like to be heard. You wanna walk in and be like, ‘Not only are you a bad friend, but you have completely ignored me in a huge crisis…’ which is unfair and untrue, and that crushes me, that you would take this opportunity to exploit me like that and make it look like I’ve been a bad friend to you, and I’ve ignored you and I have not been there for you…”
“How did you not know that I was going through all this?” Whitney asks.
“If you want me to know about something, and it’s painful and hurtful that I’m not responsive, tell me!” Heather fires back.
Heather apologizes for not knowing Justin was fired and not being up to date on the gossip mill.
Heather continues, “I’m in trouble for a rumor I never heard. I’m in trouble for a horrible event in your life that I didn’t know about. I’m sorry that I’m not well-versed in the gossip mill and that Lisa’s not calling me to tell me all the sh-t that goes wrong in your life every single day. I don’t want to sit here with you, best friend and cousin, and have you sit on my couch and explain to me how I shouldn’t be hurt by what Lisa did. It should be very clear to you, and the fact that you want to talk it out and represent for her is deeply offensive to me.”
“You’re repping for yourself, you’re not repping for me,” Heather goes on to say, walking away from the conversation.
“It crushes me that you would take this opportunity to make it look like I have been a bad friend to you and I have ignored you and not been there for you,” Heather tells her.
Heather becomes frustrated. She removes her mic and storms off, then she storms back in the room and ushers Whitney out the door.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Wednesday nights, at 9pm ET, on Bravo.
