Candiace Dillard Bassett Calls for Cast Shakeup Amid Drama Between ‘RHOP’ Co-Stars and Husband Chris!

Candiace Dillard Bassett is calling for a cast shakeup amid drama between her Real Housewives of Potomac co-stars and her husband, Chris Bassett.

The reality star took to Twitter after the show featured Ashley Darby claiming that her husband had been messaging and flirting with her friends. 

Candiace wrote — “This is embarrassing. This is your best work?” 

Candiace then took aim at Ashley’s husband, Michael Darby.

“I would also like to record to reflect that I received the text about forehead’s rapey ass husband ON camera. The camera was on me while I was preparing to walk out of my room and my friend sent me the text that I later showed her. If I had received the text off-camera, cont’d…” she tweeted. “I would have approached her off camera. #RHOP”

Gizelle Bryant has also been in the mix, as she previously revealed a past uncomfortable interaction she had with Chris. 

Candiace tweeted — “Can’t pimp your children out for two minute scenes forever. My whole family & my friends have shown up for me season after season on the show. & this b-tch skates by having shown us nearly nothing. It’s a wonder she hasn’t scripted her own (yt) Karen-esq misconduct story sooner.”

Gizelle claimed that Chris asked to speak to her privately in her room, during a past reunion. Chris later alleged that it was Gizelle who asked him to talk privately in her room. Candiace accused her co-star of coming after Chris as a setup for a RHOP storyline. 

Gizelle addressed the matter during a recent appearance on Carlos King’s podcast, Reality With the King. King asked her to specify what made her uncomfortable, Chris’ actions, or simply the optics of the incident.     

“I think it was both,” she explained. “That evening, Chris was very drunk at that point of the night … We could have talked in the hallway. I didn’t get why he wanted to go to my room. So once we were there, it just made me feel uncomfortable … I have never said this man lured me. I’ve never said he preyed on me. I’ve never said that I was accusing him of sexual assault, even though the other side is talking real crazy.”

Gizelle added that she was surprised to see Chris “lie” about who instigated the incident.

“I wasn’t gonna say anything at all,” she shared. “Because I feel like … This has happened to me before when it comes to a married man … but then as this season started, and he started DMing Ashley [Darby] and he DMs me, it just was like whoa, he’s doing too much and … his wife needs to know.”

She added that she never expected the story to blow up, remarking—“I have no idea why we’re still talking about this. None.”

Gizelle shot down speculation that she potentially damaged Chris’ reputation to land a storyline.

“I’m just speaking my truth. I’ll be honest with you,” she said. “I’m not ghost-producing. I’m not doing any of that … I think Candiace has made this a bigger issue and a bigger deal than Gizelle.”
