In a preview clip of an upcoming episode of I Am Shauna Rae, the star takes her first steps toward independence by going for a job interview. In a confessional, Shauna, 22, says, “If I want to move out, I need to get this job.” The reality star says she will be great at the job because of her love for animals. “I’ve always been interested in working with animals. I first became interested at like, 3, when I wanted to become a vet. So working at a kenneling place is really exciting for me because I don’t like working with people as much.” However, the owner of the business looks at Shauna and questions if she would be able to handle the larger dogs.

The owner asks, “We have some big dogs. You gonna have any problems, uh, handling them?” Shauna admits in the confessional that she can get easily overpowered but is confident at the kennel. “Both of my dogs at home are taller than me when they stand on their two legs, and they weigh more than me. I definitely think I can handle it,” she said. The TLC star continues in her confessional, “I don’t think larger and more aggressive dogs are scarier for me. I think yes, maybe I don’t want to handle them with a lead rope. Maybe give me a harness, but I will definitely figure the situation out — even if it makes me run into a wall.”

To see how she works with the dogs, Shauna is given a trial run in the yard with a yellow lab cooper. When her sisters join her in the confessional, they say she can handle herself around the big animals. Rylee says, “Shauna is just fine wrangling any large animal. I’ve seen her with our dog, and then I’ve seen her on a horse. It does not matter her size. They listen.” Shauna adds, “Having a job will help me take the next step toward my independence.” She is also hoping to save money for a car and an apartment. “If I want to move out it is very important I get this job.”

Season 2 of I Am Shauna Rae will see the star go through some giant milestones in her life, such as living on her own and learning how to drive. “Mentally, emotionally, I definitely think I’m ready to live on my own, but I feel overwhelmed, so I’m not sure how this is gonna go,” Shauna claims.
