‘RHOP’ RECAP: Candiace Goes Off On Ashley Over ‘Predator’ Accusations About Chris!

Welcome back to The Real Housewives of Potomac! We begin with Ashley Darby, one hour after finding out her separation was leaked. Candiace Dillard-Bassett welcomes Ashley in as she and Ashley decide to catch up and have a cute gossip session. Candiace admits that she was brought into the group by Ashley, and reminisces on everything they have in common, in hopes they’ll have more good times. However, Candiace does shade Ashley by admitting they don’t get along when Ashley decides to be a h*e, LOL. As Ashley chomps down on crackers, Candiace asks Ashley what’s going on and if Ashley and Michael Darby planned to announce their separation together. Ashley admits that that was the plan, but after Michael had his vasectomy, he flew to Vegas, and Ashley hasn’t heard from Michael since. Ashley reveals that Michael recently texted her asking to talk in 24 hours, and Candiace asks Ashley whether Michael’s upset that the news came out. 

Ashley thinks Michael doesn’t have any autonomy, and Candiace asks about Ashley and Michael’s living arrangements. Ashley states that she and Michael can stay in the same home but can’t share a bed nor have any sexual contact. Ashley then switches to the conversation about how Candiace complements Candiace’s hair. Candiace states that she’s in a funk, and Ashley thinks the group helps Candiace get out of her mood. However, Candiace doesn’t share the same sentiments. In fact, Candiace says the friendship group is why she canceled IVF. Ashley knows Candiace didn’t talk to Gizelle Bryant at Family Fun Day, and Ashley wonders if Chris is willing to say sorry so everyone can move on; but Chris isn’t comfortable around the girls anymore. 

Candiace reveals to Ashley that she’s listened to Gizelle’s scheme and plan all types of shenanigans to hurt people in the group. Candiace tells Ashley how she should know all about Gizelle’s actions since she’s been around and known Gizelle longer. Ashley seems surprised, but she knows how Gizelle moves, SMH. Ashley admits that Gizelle knows some of Ashley’s secrets and that prompts Candiace to bring up Ashley “allegedly” being down at the restaurant with a hockey player. Ashley and Candiace crack up laughing as Ashley falls on the floor before admitting she was out with a man. Ashley had a good time but claims she’ll always compare the next man to Michael. Yuck. Ashley is surprised that word gets around so fast and shifts our attention to Karen Huger. Ashley says that people used to tell her so much stuff about Karen and Ray, then Candiace jumps in to say that Karen used to sneak out of town with another man! 

This tea is HOT! Ashley laughs as Candiace acknowledges that Ashley deserves to go out and have a good time while being safe. Ashley thinks Michael is out doing things and Candiace knows Michael is out there doing things. Candiace is excited for Ashley’s new chapter in life and thinks Ashley deserves young balls to play with, LOL. Meanwhile, Mia Thornton and her family are getting ready to eat as Mia cuts the kids’ food up. Mia asks Gordon Thornton about the upcoming soft opening for their new chiropractic location. Mia’s excited but she doesn’t want to open another practice any time soon due to how taxing it is. The kids tell Mia they have a challenge for her, and Mia has to judge a dance contest. 

As the kids get ready, Mia asks how Gordon’s doing, and he’s fine, besides Mia’s health being up in the air. Gordon’s happy a lot of the bad diagnoses have been ruled out, but they still don’t have solid answers to what’s going on. Mia thinks she can chill and have fun now, so she decided to invite the girls to Miami with her. Mia plans to talk to the ladies about what’s not allowed on the trip and somehow links Jacqueline Blake into this conversation while telling us she slept with Gordon (while he was married) on a beach in Miami. I could’ve lived without knowing that, SMH. 

The next day, Gizelle takes her beautiful daughters to the nail salon and immediately embarrasses them by patting her face with a towel. Gizelle laughs it off as she goes through the checklist of the twins’ upcoming 16th birthday party. Gizelle wants to spend every second she can with her girls as they’re growing up before our eyes and will be out of the house soon. Gizelle makes sure decorations are ordered and the photographer is booked and promises to be Zen during the girls’ party. The girls agree to let Gizelle give a 90-minute speech — then Gizelle mocks Jamal Bryant and how he’d give a sermon to the girls. LOL. Gizelle acknowledges the rough past she has with Jamal, but gives him props for being there for their girls. 

Gizelle appreciates things being about the kids and hopes when Ashley gets divorced, she’ll be able to co-parent like Gizelle and Jamal, SMH. Robyn Dixon meets with her lawyer, Marla, who was a referral through a friend, to discuss her options when it comes to a prenuptial agreement. Marla asks Robyn what’s going on in her life and basically what Robyn’s thinking about for the future. Robyn recaps that she’s getting remarried to her ex-husband and how their last prenup didn’t matter due to their past financial issues. Marla wonders if Juan knows that Robyn is there. Juan knows Robyn is there but doesn’t think a prenup is necessary. Robyn thinks the meeting is important because they never know what can happen. Marla then asks if there’s a disparity in their income and Robyn admits there is. Point blank, Robyn makes more than Juan and she doesn’t want him going after her assets if things go left. 

Robyn asks if there’s a clause for infidelity, and Marla acknowledges the prenup can look however they want. Then Marla asks Robyn if infidelity was an issue in the past. Robyn admits that infidelity was the reason for their divorce and Marlo wraps up the meeting by telling Robyn she’ll send her a list of the documents to get together so they can get started. The next day, Karen is meeting Ashley to pick up some flowers. A shivering Karen greets Ashley as Ashley tells Karen about Michael’s surgery. Ashley doesn’t want Michael calling her if something goes wrong as Wendy Osefo arrives in the nick of time. Wendy saw the news, and Karen asks if she is ok, but Ashley isn’t ready to talk about it. The ladies begin picking flowers but are fighting the weather as they explore. 

Ashley tells Wendy that she can plant some of the flowers in her backyard, but Wendy has construction going on to add a new pool. Karen then speaks about Robyn not inviting Wendy’s kids to Family Fun Day. Karen thinks Robyn and Wendy need to put their emotions to the side but are interrupted by the vendor bringing them blankets. Wendy thinks the ladies have misconceptions about each other and invite the ladies to air their grievances. Wendy’s thinking of sending a text thread to the group and Ashley recommends Wendy send a separate message to Robyn. Wendy will include Ashley’s kind words to the entire group and feels like the girls are making too much of the situation. 

Later, Candiace is home massaging her thigh as her sister Crystal joins them in the living room. Crystal pours Candiace and Chris some wine as Candiace discusses her upcoming deluxe album. Apparently, Trina agreed to do the feature and Crystal has no idea who Trina is. Candiace is excited to give her fans new music and Trina agreed to be in the music video. Candiace reads Wendy’s invite to a Burn Session and immediately Candiace is put on edge. Crystal thinks it sounds like there are good intentions there, but Chris disagrees. Chris walks away as Candiace brings up Ashley; Candiace tells Crystal that she doesn’t want beef with Ashley and wants her to be a h*e safely.  

Ashley and Wendy are riding together as Wendy shares that she’s experiencing kidney stones. Wendy, if you don’t get yourself under control! Ashley tells Wendy that Karen sent a text that she and the rest of the girls are on the way. In the sprinter van, Gizelle’s excited that everyone’s coming, and Robyn thinks Wendy’s invitation was fake. Wendy asks Ashley if she drinks wine and Ashley admits that she has been struggling with not drinking with everything that’s going on. Wendy acknowledges society’s love for being booked and busy and reveals to Ashley that Wendy’s mom was recently admitted to the hospital. 

Wendy recognizes that if she doesn’t take care of herself, she’ll end up like her mom. The ladies arrive at Bluemont vineyard, and the rain is a precursor for what’s to come. Wendy checks in as she and Ashley begin drinking. The rest of the ladies arrive, and Gizelle almost falls while Candiace recaps the last time she was at a winery (cough cough, Monique). The ladies greet each other as Wendy directs them to grab a drink and a seat. After the ladies order, Gizelle begins by bringing up the memes surrounding Ashley’s separation. Ashley appreciates people being supportive of her but not at the expense of Michael. Ashley tells the table she and Michael talk, but he hangs up on her. 

Mia asks Wendy what exactly is a “burn,” and Wendy describes the shady game. The goal is to take ownership of what someone else perceived about you. The food arrives as Wendy passes around paper and pens for everyone. Wendy’s first in the hot seat and Ashley starts by saying that she thought Wendy had a barrier up. Ashley wants Wendy to remain open and Wendy seems to receive it. Candiace didn’t write anything and instead speaks from the heart. Candiace thinks Wendy has opened up more. Karen goes and acknowledges the progress they’ve made. Mia thinks Wendy is dismissive but is proud of Wendy for hosting the burn session. Wendy burns Mia’s note and Robyn’s up next. Robyn’s fine with her and Wendy being like oil and water, and Gizelle shares Robyn’s sentiments. 

Gizelle then wonders why Wendy tried to fake hug her and is good on Wendy. Wendy goes past Gizelle and focuses her sights on Robyn. Wendy acknowledges what Robyn said and Candiace jumps in trying to help. Robyn doesn’t want Wendy telling people that Robyn was trying to fight her and wants Wendy to be careful with her words. Wendy said that Robyn was held back and must not remember because she was too drunk. Robyn says she’s not a thug and Wendy thinks Robyn is projecting on herself. Robyn then calls Charrisse Jackson-Jordan to ask whether Charrisse held Robyn back. Footage shows she did, but Charrisse boldface lied!

Gizelle jumps in as Robyn calls Wendy horrible over and over before Robyn walks out! Karen wants the group to move forward and tells Gizelle that she was yelling most of the time. Wendy brings up therapy, and soon, foolishness begins. Wendy laughs before things quickly change to Chris making Gizelle uncomfortable. Ashley tells Candiace that her friend was at the spring party and that Chris was being flirty with her. Candiace asks Ashley what the purpose of this is and wonders why Ashley didn’t call or text her. Candiace came to Ashley privately to be respectful of her, but Ashley brings up Candiace calling Michael a predator.

Candiace says Ashley has nothing else going on and Candiace won’t ignore the pattern. Ashley asks Candiace if she thinks Chris acts a certain way when he’s not around Candiace. Ashley brings up that Mia said Chris was staring at her, and asks Candiace, “It doesn’t feel good does it.” Soon, rat-tat-tat Candiace comes out! Ashley asks Candiace whether she just wants to turn a blind eye to it, and Candiace replies, “Well you should know.” Ashley reveals that she knows of another DM Chris slid into that wasn’t as innocent as hers!
