Ramona Singer Hopes New ‘RHONY’ Cast Are Not Copy Cats of The OGs!
Ramona Singer is hoping the new cast of The Real Housewives of New York will bring something new to the franchise and not copy her!
While speaking to Page Six, former Real Housewives of New York star, Ramona Singer, said she doesn’t know any of the ladies cast in the reboot. “I love Bravo. I just hope they are as good as Luann [de Lesseps], Sonja [Morgan], and I were, you know, just as good as the original cast.” When Singer was asked if the new cast should watch the previous seasons of The Real Housewives of New York for pointers, she said it would be the worst thing to do. “People will know that you are faking it. On reality TV, if you are watching our moves, just be yourself. So I am not giving them advice. I don’t even know them.”
The fresh cast of The Real Housewives of New York reboot was introduced to fans during BravoCon 2022’s live taping of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. He brought onstage creative director Sai De Silva, J.Crew president Jenna Lyons, model and philanthropist Ubah Hassan, home renovation guru Erin Dana Lichy, influencer Lizzy Savetsky, fashion publicist Jessel Taank, and brand marketing and communications pro Brynn Whitfield. Singer, 65, added during her interview that if the ladies needed any pointers, they would have to hire her as a consultant. “If they want they can hire me as a consultant, hire me as a consultant and then I will show you exactly what to do so you can be an icon like me,” she said.
The OG cast member appeared on The Real Housewives of New York for 13 seasons from 2008 to 2021 before it was canceled. When asked if she would consider making an appearance on the reboot, Singer said. “I don’t know about making a cameo. I have a great life and I am enjoying it. But one sound advice that I would give is to be yourself.” Sources close to production said that Real Housewives of New York reboot filming will begin this fall with the show premiering in 2023. Ramona also shared her opinion about the legacy show which is supposed to feature some of the OG cast members.
While talking to Carlos King on his podcast show in October, Singer said, “How could it be really good? The people who they’re gonna bring back are people they didn’t want to renew anyway so what are you gonna call it? The Loser Show?”
