Dwyane Wade Accused of ‘Pressuring’ Trans Daughter To Undergo Sex Change For Money!
Dwyane Wade’s ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches-Wade, is accusing him of using their daughter, Zaya Wade, to make money in Hollywood!
Dwyane’s ex-wife is objecting to his decision to go forward with Zaya’s name change on her birth certificate. Siohvaugn filed a response this week to Wade’s August petition to allow his daughter to change her name from Zion Malachi Airamis Wade to Zaya Malachi Airamis Wade. The NBA legend’s ex-wife is pleading to the courts to make Zaya wait until the age of 18 to make the massive decision. Zaya, 16, lives with the Miami Heat player and his wife, actress Gabrielle Union. Siohvaugn claimed in the filing that Wade was attempting to go against the requirements of their Illinois final custody order judgment that they entered on March 14, 2011.
The order states that they will both discuss and obtain major input from each other concerning, “decisions affecting care, welfare, activities, health, education and religious upbringing.” Zaya came out to the world as trans in 2020 at the age of 12, and since then, she has been welcomed by the LGBTQ+ community. Zaya Wade took the modeling industry by storm and has bagged contracts with Tiffany and Dove, and gained a huge social media following. Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union have been vocal in interviews about Zaya’s decision to transition from male to female.
Siohvaugh told the court that she had been informed that her daughter is in potential talks to work with Disney. She said that Wade “is positioned to profit from the minor child’s name and gender change with various companies.” Funches continued to say, “I have concerns that he may be pressuring our child to move forward with the name and gender change in order to capitalize on the financial opportunities that he has received from companies.” The NBA star’s ex-wife added that he intended to make their child very famous with endorsements and other business opportunities.
Celebrity attorney, Mark Gross, who is representing Siohvaugh, contented that Zaya “be given the opportunity at the age of majority, which is two and one-half years away.” Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade have yet to respond to the allegations from the recent filing. A judge is set to decide on the matter during an upcoming hearing set in December. Fans also reacted to the news on Twitter. One person said, “I fully get the mom wanting for zaya to get the sex change at a older age, but saying wade is doing this for money especially when he’s a multi millionaire who’s married to another multi millionaire is crazy.”
