‘Married to Medicine’ RECAP: Heavenly Calls Contessa a ‘Dumb B*tch’ and a ‘H*e’ During HEATED Argument!
Welcome to part two of the Married to Medicine reunion! We begin with Anila Sajja answering Andy’s question regarding Anila thinking Toya Bush-Harris had something to do with her recent break-in. Anila says “No,” and Andy asks Anila how she’s sleeping at home. Anila isn’t sleeping well but hopes to get past it soon. Andy tells Anila to tell Ms. Gomez “Hi” before switching gears. We get a recap of the doctors’ work lives and all the amazing things they do for their patients. Dr. Jackie Walters is Audra Curry’s OB/GYN, and we get a review of the husbands’ work throughout the season. Andy asks Dr. Simone Whitmore why is now a good time to be a Black doctor, and Simone explains the heartbreak of George Floyd’s murder and the statics around Black women dying at a higher rate during delivery.
Andy’s surprised as Simone explains the biases within the healthcare system and told the terrifying story of Serena Williams. Audra couldn’t go to the reunion since she is close to labor. Jackie gives us an update on Audra’s health before Andy begins asking questions from the fans. Andy asks if Dr. Heavenly Kimes learned anything from watching how Dr. Damon Kimes works, and Heavenly admits to learning a lot from Damon. Anila admits that she’ll let Dr. Kiran do anything to her, and Andy shifts his attention to whether Quad Webb has gotten fillers or not. Anila says no comment and Quad gets offended while claiming to be 44 and fabulous. Andy directs our attention to women’s rights issues and the awareness the doctors provided throughout the season.
A fan asks about politicians entering healthcare, and Simone explains how the overturning of Roe vs. Wade was so devastating. Heavenly took to her YouTube page, and although Heavenly wouldn’t have an abortion, Heavenly doesn’t think a man should have a say about what a woman does with her body. Simone educated everyone on the many complications that can come with pregnancy. Jackie agrees with Heavenly that the decision lies within the patient and Dr. Contessa Metcalfe chimes in regarding the states’ obligations and to elect the right people in your state to allow abortions.
Meanwhile, backstage, the husbands arrive as Andy shifts our attention to Toya’s hectic season. Andy begins by saying how excited he was for Toya to move into her dream home, and Toya brings out her receipts to show how lucrative it was for her family to move. Simone chimes in to verify Toya’s story as Quad looks sour in the face. Andy reads that Toya made almost a million dollars off her home and Toya seems satisfied with her proof. Andy asks the ladies if Toya made the right choice and Heavenly thinks Toya did since she has outside bills. Heavenly claims that she saw Audra’s paperwork, but Toya isn’t giving Audra’s receipts any life. A fan gives off a list of Toya’s moves and Toya asks who isn’t chasing money on this stage. Andy talks about Toya not knowing exactly what Eugene is going through. Toya explains her feelings about being alone as she gets emotional on the couch.
Toya says Eugene understands a lot better and Toya felt that her friends weren’t supporting her during that time. Eugene looks on backstage as Toya pours out her feelings and Contessa comes to her defense. Backstage, Eugene explains that some women cry easier than others and that it really bothers him every time he sees Toya cry. Jackie then chimes in and says that Toya doesn’t listen and challenges her advice. Jackie reminded Toya that she said Curtis cheated because of something Jackie wasn’t doing. Jackie claims she didn’t know anything was wrong in Toya’s relationship and Toya’s upset that Jackie didn’t even check on her. Jackie continues gaslighting Toya as Andy shifts to Quad’s Holi-Slay party. Andy brings up the cheating allegations and questions Quad about this BS rumor.
Quad’s only proof is that Heavenly was told by Simone that Toya did cheat but the ladies got the wrong man. Simone denies those claims and laughs at the accusation. Quad states the rumor originated out of Anila’s girls’ night. Quad says that Anila called her and roped Zaina in. Andy wonders if the ladies wanted to keep the rumor alive in order to hurt Toya. Quad doesn’t answer the question and instead validates her actions by claiming she was hurt so she in turn hurt Toya. Quad admits to hurting Toya on purpose and apologized. Toya accepts Quad’s apology and Toya tells Quad that she never perpetuated the rumor about Quad and the contractor. Andy asks Jackie what she would’ve done if the women talked behind her back and Jackie admits the women did talk behind her back, but it didn’t affect her.
Anila claims not to know Zaina was invited and claims she only took Zaina to the party, but she wasn’t involved in the rumor about Toya. Anila apologizes to Toya and throws Quad under the bus as Quad calls her a “lying a**.” Andy asks Toya where she is in her friendship with Anila and Toya responds that she doesn’t know. Every time Toya hugs and makes up with Anila, another issue comes up and they’re back to square one. Anila claims that everyone talks and gossips about each other and Toya makes it a point to verify the difference. Anila claims that she didn’t believe the rumor and Toya thinks that’s even worse. Anila continues making excuses for herself as Toya makes it clear how vile such a rumor is. Toya thanks God that Eugene really knows her but wonders what would’ve happened if they were in a more fragile state.
Contessa urges Anila to apologize to Toya and Andy leaves it there as the ladies break for lunch. Anila goes to her trailer and Quad is giving Anila the stank face. Anila thinks she’s being ganged up on and soon, Quad and Anila get into it. Quad claims that she doesn’t lie and asks Anila what she’s afraid of. Anila tells Quad to take accountability and Quad tells Anila she said everything she wanted to say. The two agree to disagree as Anila walks away in defeat. Poor Anila. She couldn’t handle the big, bad Quad, LOL.
Quad and Anila seem better after the break and Andy continues by focusing on Contessa and Heavenly’s feud. After the recap, Andy asks the ladies if Heavenly ever made fun of their looks. Everyone raises their hand and Heavenly thinks Dr. Jackie looks like a little boy. Heavenly has made fun of everyone’s finances and the way they look, and all the ladies doubt that Heavenly and Damon have sex every day. The fellas joke backstage as Andy goes back to the beginning of the season when Contessa wasn’t speaking with Heavenly. Contessa claims she spoke to Heavenly before bringing it to the group; Heavenly says she didn’t. Instead, Jackie and Heavenly claim Contessa called Heavenly to talk crap about Dr. Scott Metcalfe and Contessa calls Heavenly a liar.
Contessa calls Heavenly a parrot and Heavenly calls Contessa a “dumb b****.” Heavenly claims Contessa asked for her advice and that Contessa actually took her advice. Heavenly explains that Jackie called Contessa on her behalf, but nothing came from it. Andy confronts Contessa on last year’s comments and that Contessa alluded to Scott messing around on her. Contessa claims she has zero regrets about sharing things with her friends and tells Heavenly that she’s not her friend. Contessa says she stopped talking to Heavenly because she’s a clown and not a good friend. Heavenly and Contessa get into a screaming match as the ladies listen on. Contessa makes a comment that she wishes Heavenly would be honest about clowning Damon and Heavenly tries to scream over Contessa.
Andy attempts to get the ladies back on track with no success, as he claims it’s getting hot in there. Quad asks the ladies to please stop, and Andy has the ladies take a break. Returning, Andy asks Simone, since she’s been open with her marriage, is it fair game for the ladies to discuss it. Simone says yes and asks Heavenly to listen to her for one second. Simone tells Heavenly that Contessa was her friend and person who meant the most to Heavenly, and that Contessa thought their relationship was above being dragged by Heavenly.
Heavenly admits she was wrong but didn’t realize things were so bad until she got ganged up on. Andy asks Heavenly why wouldn’t she adjust her content or stop. The husbands talk backstage and are upset that their friendship suffered due to their wives’ issues. Quad claims Heavenly tried to clean it up at first but then backpedaled after the failed dinner at Simone and Cecil’s. Heavenly claims Contessa came after her husband and the two go back and forth about whether Damon makes more than Contessa. Quad asks Heavenly when she’s going to value her friends and Heavenly thinks she’s already made a change. Heavenly states she’ll make more changes if Quad wants her to and Contessa questions whether Quad is afraid of Heavenly.
Quad talks to Heavenly about being more mindful regarding her social media as the rest of the ladies look bored. Heavenly thanks Quad for talking to her and claims this is the right way to approach her. Andy feels like, at every reunion, the ladies talk about Heavenly’s jokes and social media and don’t see the growth on Heavenly’s part. Andy asks Jackie what she sees in the situation and Contessa speaks up and says Jackie isn’t going to go against Heavenly. Jackie tries to speak up, but Contessa’s already made her mind up. Jackie says she’s spoken to Heavenly before and Quad wonders what would make Heavenly stop. A fan claims Heavenly is just funny and none of the ladies agree Heavenly has the best reads.
Heavenly gets upset as she turns to Quad saying everyone talks about each other. Heavenly calls Contessa a h*e and Andy wonders if the ladies think Heavenly should delete her social media. Quad doesn’t think so and the ladies go back and forth about Heavenly saying her jokes in people’s faces. The friendship is over, and Andy finally moves on as Contessa mocks Heavenly. The husbands set up for their segment with Andy as Anila and Quad chat backstage. Anila wonders how Quad feels about their friendship and tells Quad that she values her as she wants Quad to hug and kiss her.
Andy welcomes the husbands and wonders if they saw what’s been happening backstage. Andy checks in with all the husbands and they’re all full of laughs before the crap hits the fan. Andy begins by making a comment not to get into the women’s business as we get a recap of the husband’s struggles this season. Andy asks Cecil Whitmore what happened this year and Cecil says he doesn’t know but things got ugly. Dr. Kiran Sajja claims Anila brought the costume idea to his attention and backstage Anila and Toya are getting into it because of it. Anila continues saying it’s a joke as Toya tells her to shut up and we get back to the men’s couch. Andy questions Eugene and why it wasn’t a good idea to joke about it. Eugene says their old neighborhood had issues and doesn’t think it’s funny.
Kiran asks Eugene if it’s funny in hindsight, and Eugene still doesn’t think it’s funny. Kiran thought they were friends, but Eugene is upset because they were friends. When Andy asks Kiran if he should’ve apologized earlier when he realized how upset Eugene was and Kiran says no! You have to come back next week to see the conclusion to the Married to Medicine reunion!
