Kyle Richards Called Out for Excusing Erika Jayne After Ostracizing Lisa Vanderpump for Same Offense!
Fans did not let Kyle Richards off the hook as Bravo wrapped Season 12 with the final Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion episode, last week.
The reunion series only touched on controversy that played out toward the end of filming season, over leaked stories pertaining to drama that unfolded during a cast trip to Aspen. Kyle accused a person from Erika’s team of spilling the tea —a scenario familiar to fans who watched Lisa Vanderpump get slammed with the same accusation, during Season 9.
An astute viewer pointed out the contrast between Kyle’s attitude toward Erika and her former bestie, Lisa Vanderpump.
The fan tweeted—“So Kyle turned on LVP for “supposedly” leaking stories about a dog yet Rinna and Erika leaked stories about her own sister and they’re still hunky dory.”
Kyle and Lisa’s relationship hit a wall during Season 9 after a leaked story exposed Dorit Kemsley’s botched dog adoption from Lisa’s rescue center, “Vanderpump Dogs.”
Most of the cast believed that Lisa spilled the story to the media, and Kyle confronted her friend, on camera, with the accusation. Lisa vehemently denied the allegation, and because Kyle did not stick by her, their friendship crashed and burned.
A deleted scene, snipped from the finale episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, appeared to support the claim that Erika Jayne’s publicist was the person who leaked information to the press during Season 12 filming season.
Fans know that the season concluded after drama exploded during a cast getaway to Aspen. Lisa Rinna claimed that Kathy Hilton, whom she later called “the devil,” melted down after leaving an Aspen nightclub, ranting that she planned to take down the network, the show, and even her own sister, Kyle Richards. Most of the cast only witnessed the early moments of Kathy’s outburst, which sparked lots of questions about Rinna’s story.
News of the incident was dished to the press during filming season and the ladies were later filmed questioning the identity of the mystery leaker. Kyle revealed that she had been told that Erika Jayne’s publicist, Jack Ketsoyan, was behind the leaks. There was little doubt that the axed footage bolstered Kyle’s claim.
Kyle confronted Erika with the information, explaining in a confessional spot that Kathy had discovered the snitch’s identity after launching an investigation.
“It was someone who works for you,” Kyle said, during the finale episode.
“Interesting,” Erika replied.
Erika added—“well then you should show me what you have” after Kyle identified her publicist.
The international version of the episode circulated on social media and raised fan eyebrows, due to one specific scene.
Rinna discussed the Aspen drama with Dorit Kemsley in the footage, and Erika’s publicist is seen within earshot of the conversation.
“It’s going down over here,” someone who was seemingly identified as Erika’s Creative Director, Mikey Minden, said.
“Good, it needs to,” a woman named Laia agreed.
“I’m listening to what’s happening behind me,” Ketsoyan said, in the deleted clip.
Fans have called out Kyle and other cast members for letting Erika off easy while ripping into other cast members, including Lisa, over the years. Kyle’s blasé reunion reaction appeared to repeat the same pattern.
