Sister Wives: Kody Gets Emotional After Christine Brown Sells Marital Bed
Sister Wives star Christine Brown is truly moving on and wants everything associated with ex-husband Kody Brown and the home they shared sold and forgotten.
Christine Makes Kody A Proposal
On the Sunday, October 30 episode of Sister Wives, Christine and Kody meet at her house to discuss placing the property on the market and how they will split shared assets.
Christine Brown, 50, explains that the home is in her name only and she has legal rights to all the proceeds once the house sells.
“In plural marriage, there’s a tendency for the wives to own the assets because if dad goes to jail for cohabitation, they’re gonna take all the property,” Kody shares. “Christine’s walking away with her money from this house in this deal. She’ll be able to buy another house. Janelle [Brown] can’t do anything on Coyote Pass until we pay it off.”

Split Everything 50/50
Christine views the transaction as a clean split and an easy way out.
“If you split everything 50/50, that means I get 50 percent of everything that he has — all of his property,” she says. “That means his and Robyn [Brown]’s house, too, if he wants to go down that road and split it that way. That doesn’t make any sense.”
“Let’s just make it clean and easy — I get the house, you can have the property,” Christine concludes.

Why Is Christine Selling The Bed
After Christine and Kody negotiate dividing their assets, they discuss what will happen to their marital bed, where they shared a few intimate moments.
Christine matter-of-factly informs Kody that she’s selling the former couple’s bed that they shared during their marriage.
Christine keeps asking Kody to remove his belongings from her garage. “If I had not boxed Kody’s stuff up, out of my bedroom and moved it to the garage, he would have never gotten to it,” Christine says in a talking head confessional.
Kody has been reluctant to move his stuff, while Christine wants to speed the process along so she can move to Utah. Christine adds, “My goal is to get rid of as much stuff as possible and move with less stuff.”

The Bed Is Sold
Later in the episode, Christine shares that she sold the king size bed and reflected on the memories she created in that bed — conceiving her babies and giving birth in that bed.
She also shares the bed is reminder of “toxic” times with Kody in that bed and she doesn’t want to bring those negative memories with her to Utah.
Christine’s not emotional about her decision, as she delivers the news to Kody, who’s having a difficult time accepting he’s failed at this marriage.
“Christine’s been hassling me for months to get my stuff out of her garage. I’m busy. I’ve got work to do, and now she’s put this big thing on my plate. I don’t know what to do,” Kody says.

Kody Gets Emotional
“I don’t actually have a space of my own,” Kody continues. “I don’t have a place to put this. I don’t have a corner. I don’t have anything.”
Kody admits he’s having a rough time moving on from this marriage. “I have an emotional attachment to this house — yes I do. Listen, I have an emotional attachment to Christine!”

Why Is Christine Moving
Christine decided to move to Utah not only to escape Kody and his other wives — Robyn Brown and Meri Brown but to also be closer to her parents, her adult children, and her grandchildren. Christine’s entire support system lives in Utah. Her adult children live in Utah, including Mykelti and Tony Padron, who has one child and twins on the way. And her son, Paedon, her daughter Aspyn and her husband, Mitch, all live in Utah.
Sister Wives airs Sundays, at 10 p.m. ET, on TLC.
