‘RHONY’ Newbie Ubah Hassan Is Worried About Her Weave In New Season!
Real Housewives of New York newbie, Ubah Hassan, is already scared of someone ruining her wig on the new show!
Ubah spoke to Page Six about her role on The Real Housewives of New York reboot while at the Angel Ball on Monday night. The Somalian model said, “I hope no one throws a drink at me if we end up fighting.” She continued, “I wear a weave. I don’t want it to get wet and messed up. If so, I would have to wear my hair up.” Hassan also revealed that she got good advice from her cousin, The Real Housewives of Dubai star, Chanel Ayan.
The Ubah Hot sauce owner said during the event, “Chanel just said to have entertainment, drama. But nothing ill-intended because we are all human and we are all women. Make it fun but don’t go below the belt.” Hassan also told the news outlet, “Chanel told me, ‘Look, you are from Somalia so you will be fine. They will think twice before trying to mess with us.” Ubah was introduced to Bravo fans during BravoCon 2022’s live taping of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
The model will star alongside fashionista Sai de Silva, influencer Lizzy Savetsky, former J.Crew president Jenna Lyons, fashion publicist Jessel Taank, and marketing pro Brynn Whitfield. Hassan was attending the annual Denise Rich Angel Ball held at Cipriani Wall Street where 2.8 million was raised for cancer research. Before starting her hot sauce business, Ubah was modeling for great designers like Oscar de la Renta, Rachel Roy, Malan Breton, Betsey Johnson, and Gucci. In 2020, the model told Page Six that she has always had a passion for cooking and wanted to be a chef if she couldn’t make it in modeling.
Ubah said, “Although I’ve found myself in a modeling career where I’ve had to watch what I eat to stay fit, I wanted to find a way to honor my palate and passion for food — and a way to enjoy the taste of food without compromising being healthy and radiant.” Hassan continued, “I thought of everyone who strives to eat healthier and consume more vegetables and less processed food, but didn’t want to miss out the savory deliciousness.” The sauces come in three gemstone-inspired flavors: Ruby, which is a mild Fresno pepper sauce, Emerald that is a medium serrano one, and Yellow Tanzanite (a hot habanero version)
