Fans Slam Andy Cohen For Laughing At Lisa Rinna’s ‘Cruel’ and ‘Racist’ Treatment of Garcelle Beauvais!
Andy Cohen is under fire by The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans after he laughed at Lisa Rinna and Erika Girardi trashing Garcelle Beauvais’ book during Part 2 of the Season 12 reunion.
The reunion ringmaster is being dragged on social media for not holding Lisa Rinna and Erika Girardi accountable for their ‘disgusting’ actions that left Garcelle Beauvais humiliated and holding back tears.
In the reunion episode that aired on October 19, host Andy Cohen addressed Garcelle Beauvais book, Love Me As I Am, being tossed in the trash by Erika Girardi and then posted on social media. Andy asked Erika, “Did you at least skim Garcelle’s book for mentions of you before you chucked it in the trash?”
Erika’s Instagram Story was shown on the screen of Garcelle’s book laying in the trash with the caption, “@Garcelle, even though you unfollowed me I’m sure you’ll see this,” alongside a kiss emoji.
Lisa Rinna then confessed to doing the dirty deed, “Well, I have to be honest, I am the one who threw Garcelle’s book in the trash.”
She continued: “Garcelle and I had a handshake agreement, the kids were off limits, so about a year and a half later she put my daughter, Amelia [Hamlin], in her book in not a positive light, in a negative light, and that was what I did.”
Garcelle then explained that the passage was “retelling of the story of what happened in Rome.” A flashback of the cast trip to Italy in Season 10 was shown of Garcelle asking Lisa, “Do you think that your body image affected your daughter in any way?”
“Amelia shouldn’t have to be in Garcelle’s book in a negative light,” Lisa quipped. Garcelle revealed she had the section about Amelia, 21, removed from her book to accommodate Lisa.
Lisa Rinna then shared that the recorded video of herself putting the book in the trash was sent to a group chat, where Erika, Crystal Kung Minkoff, Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley all chuckled about the disrespectful act.
Andy Cohen made a joke about the trashing, “Do you recycle?” before saying to Jayne: “You took a lot of s**t for [Rinna’s] lack of recycling.”
Lisa and Erika laughed along as the camera panned to Garcelle, who was noticeably holding back tears and very hurt.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans took to Twitter to voice their anger towards the Bravo executive. Some fans labeled him a racist and called out his bias tendencies towards POC. Many fans demanded Andy Cohen issue Garcelle Beauvais an immediate apology.
One fan posted on Twitter, “Andy Cohen has always been a messy queen. Why are yall now just seeing it? He’s been a trash a$$ host for years now.”
Another wrote, “Dear Bravo and NBC I think you need to have a talk with @Andy or scale back his involvement with these reunions. His behavior towards Crystal and Garcelle was disgusting tonight #RHOBH.”
Someone else tweeted, “Andy Cohen and the rest of the cast owe Garcelle a huge apology. She has been bullied on the show ever since she got there and her treatment as a Black Woman clearly shows. That scene with Andy, Erika and Rinna joking about recycling & her book was terrible #RHOBH”
Another fan commented on microaggressions in the workplace, “Garcelle exemplifies many POC who are gaslit, mocked and subjected to microaggressions and blatant racism in the workplace. Andy Cohen exemplifies many white employers and HR departments who ignore and make light of the experiences of their POC employees. #RHOBH #RHOBHReunion”
Some fans brought NeNe Leaks into the chat, who previously accused Andy Cohen and Bravo of racism, “Andy Cohen / Bravo/ Racism at it’s finest NeNe leaks was absolutely correct…Andy and Bravo allowed All the plastic crows feet to do and say as they please to Garcelle…NeNe Leaks may tell you a story but she’ll never tell you a Lie.”
One person pointed out, “The fact that @Andy laughed off what Erika and Rinna did instead of holding them accountable was ridiculous. Disgusted and disappointed.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion will conclude on October 26, on Bravo, at 9 p.m. ET.
