‘The View’ Co-Hosts Call Out Andy Cohen for Biased Treatment of ‘RHOSLC’ Star Jen Shah!
Andy Cohen implied that Bravo was giving Jen Shah the axe over the weekend, and the co-hosts of The View had plenty to say about it. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star pleaded guilty to fraud charges in July.
A fan asked the Bravo executive about Jen’s absence during a BravoCon panel discussion and Andy offered a roundabout response.
“Once we wrapped [Season 3 and] she pled guilty, I think that was kind of, unfortunately, the end of, you know, the engagement there,” he said. “But I hope to sit down with her and talk to her at some point on camera because I have a lot of questions for her.”
Jen was arrested in March 2021 for allegedly operating a massive telemarketing scheme that targeted hundreds of victims, largely the elderly.
Jen originally denied the charges, pleading not guilty. The 49-year-old “Housewife” changed her plea to guilty, in July.
“I’m fighting this. I am innocent,” Jen told her co-stars and Andy during the Season 2 RHOSLC reunion. “And I will fight for every person out there that can’t fight for themselves because they don’t have the resources or the means, so they don’t fight.”
Fans know that The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, Teresa Giudice, served a prison sentence for fraud in 2015, and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Erika Jayne, is embroiled in legal drama tied to her estranged husband, Tom Girardi’s alleged embezzlement schemes.
The women of The View chatted about Andy’s comments and debated whether or not Jen was treated fairly by the network.
“Teresa Giudice served 11 months in prison for this but they didn’t cut her off, is that indicative of a double standard?” Whoopi Goldberg asked.
Sunny Hostin pointed out that while she didn’t watch “Real Housewives” shows, she had noticed a disturbing pattern.
“There seems to be a lot of criminality going on,” she said.
Joy Behar quipped that Teresa Giudice exited prison “looking like Gina Lollobrigida,” before Alyssa Farah Griffin called out Andy’s seemingly inconsistent standards regarding how he treats various Bravo stars.
“I tend to think Andy is right with this to be like until you get this figured out we’re separating. But they’ve got to be a little more consistent,” she remarked, noting additional details about Teresa’s criminal past and Erika’s ongoing legal woes.
Joy recalled joking about a potential new Bravo franchise — “The Real Housewives of Leavenworth,” giving a tongue-in-cheek nod to U.S. Penitentiary, Leavenworth.
