Ramona Singer SHADES ‘RHONY’ Spinoff, Calls New Cast ‘Losers!’
Ramona Singer had a lot to say about Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York: Legacy spinoff this past weekend!
During an interview on Carlos King’s podcast, the former Real Housewives of New York star said that the spinoff would be full of “losers.” While on the Reality with The King podcast, Ramona, 65, said that she was asked if she would join the Legacy show. “I’ve been there for a long time. I mean, never say no, never say never,” she began. “But I also feel like the ‘Legacy’ [show], how could it be really good? The people they are gonna bring back are the people they didn’t want to renew anyways.” Singer then joked, “So now what? Are you gonna call it ‘The Loser Show,’ the ‘Loser Legacy?’
On Friday, at the start of BravoCon, Andy Cohen told Page Six that the Real Housewives of New York reboot would take priority over the legacy show. The executive producer also said casting for Real Housewives of New York: Legacy hasn’t started yet. “The truth of the matter is we have not spoken to any of our classic RHONY women about ‘Legacy,’ yet.” Cohen added, “We really were waiting to get the RHONY reboot right, and we really wanted to tell new stories, and we wanted to capture the energy in New York City, and I’m really happy with where we’re at.”
Ramona did share that she doesn’t miss being in the spotlight or getting so much attention from fans. “All of a sudden, people aren’t bugging me, like, ‘Are you Ramona? I know you’re on a date, but can I have a photo?’ I don’t like all the attention. And guess what? The men I date don’t like all the attention. Even my girlfriends don’t.” The ‘Life on the Ramona Coaster’ author also said that she didn’t like the press while being a Real Housewife. “And I realize now I’m so much more relaxed. All my friends say I’m 50 percent more calmer. I still have high energy, but I’m not as hard-ass. There’s something more gentle and I’m actually able to date now in a better way.”
Despite Ramona not wanting to join The Real Housewives of New York: Legacy, Luan De Lesseps told Page Six that the series just wouldn’t be the same without her. “Listen, I can’t see a show without the Ramona Singer ‘stinger.’ So, I’d be surprised if they didn’t ask her back.”
