‘RHOBH’ RECAP: Garcelle Beauvais Claims Diana Jenkins Hired Bots & Threatened Her!
‘RHOBH’ RECAP: Garcelle Beauvais Claims Diana Jenkins Hired Bots & Threatened Her!
The first part of the Season 12 The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion began Wednesday night. Diana Jenkins appears via video and that’s a good thing considering things turned ugly but first host, Andy Cohen, kicked off the reunion with a special guest appearance by Jamie Lee Curtis.
Jamie Lee Curtis Surprise
The Halloween Ends star made a surprise appearance during Part 1. Andy Cohen and the ladies were smitten with the actress and the host called Curtis an “honorary housewife” to which the actor said, “I’m very honored to be so. [I] had the best — unexpected best — time I’ve ever had and the result was unexpected.” Curtis said she hadn’t conceived the impact RHOBH had before showing up to film with the housewives. “My appearance was the single biggest day in the history of my charity,” she said.
Once Jamie Lee Curtis exited the stage, Andy Cohen spoke briefly about “how appalled” he is by “what’s been happening on social media” with various cast members — and their children — receiving death threats. “You can love our cast, and you can love to hate our cast if you want, but only in the spirit of entertainment. It’s a TV show, everybody — there’s no room for this kind of hate. And Bravo unequivocally condemns it,” he said.
Crystal’s Eating Disorder
Crystal Kung Minkoff addressed her eating disorder. She acknowledged that people have “different experience” with it. Erika Jayne apologized for telling Crystal to throw up anything bad that she ate (she called herself a “smart ass” and said “it was the wrong thing to do”), and Dorit Kemsley was called out by Crystal for telling the group that she vomits every day. Crystal told her privately, “it felt very gossipy,” Crystal tearfully admitted. Dorit said she was “truly sorry” for telling the group.
Crystal’s Lies Exposed
Crystal Kung Minkoff was then placed in the hot seat over her falling-out with 14 friends and implying Sutton Stracke made racist comments.
Andy Cohen read a fan-submitted question about the 14 friends and Crystal responds by sharing the “incredible advice” she received from Lisa Rinna, “I just said, you know, I’ve been dealing with some women that are suddenly not talking to me since I’ve done the show, and she said, ‘Get ready, this is the beginning.’”
Kyle Richards interrupts her and says, “You said that since you’ve been on the show you’ve noticed a difference with these women, but some of these women have been asked to be on the show.”
The two went back and forth over when Crystal’s 14 friends actually started distancing themselves from her. Kyle calls the subject “confusing” and tells Crystal that she’s “contradicting” herself, adding, “You just changed the story. You said the women, after you started filming, they got weird and [Lisa] said, ‘Get used to it because you’re on a TV show now.’”
“Let me clarify,” Crystal responds. “It started before I filmed.”
“OK, so it has nothing to do with you being on TV then,” Kyle says. “I heard about it [having] completely nothing to do with the show, but I don’t want to talk about stuff that was said about it.”
Next, Andy questioned why Crystal insinuated Sutton made racist comments, when what Sutton actually said wasn’t “offensive” at all. Crystal changed her story once again and said it wasn’t anything “specific” that Sutton said but claims it was the “overall conversation” that made her “feel a certain way.” She now says it was the “tone of the conversation” that she felt was “dark.” But the ladies held Crystal’s feet to the fire and reminded her that she previously aggressively pushed the narrative that Sutton made “dark” comments. Crystal doubled down on the tone of the conversation.
“You’re saying the complete opposite of what you said to us then,” Kyle told Crystal before previously aired footage showed Crystal saying that things Sutton “said” were really “dark”.
“This is my experience,” Crystal asserts, as the ladies started insinuating that she’s a liar. “You called my experience lying,” she added, but Garcelle Beauvais stopped her from saying anything more. “No — not your experience. What you said was, ‘She said something dark.’”
Garcelle Calls Out Diana
Then, Andy Cohen brought up the online racist attack on Garcelle’s 14-year-old son, Jax.
“It was the most cruel thing that anybody could do to a child. it was really cruel. It was his first week of high school and my Playboy pictures were sent to him. It hurt a lot,” Garcelle shared. “The one that really affected us all was someone saying, ‘If it wasn’t for your white daddy, you would have a knee on your neck.’ I’m trying to hold it together. That’s really hard.”
Lisa Rinna chimed in — “the most disgusting, unacceptable, horrific thing,” Andy talked about fan speculation that the attack was orchestrated and paid for by a fellow cast member and Garcelle agreed.
“If I’m going to be honest, I did, absolutely. I don’t know for a fact that they would have said that, but I think maybe purchasing the bots,” Garcelle revealed. “It felt to me like a pattern of attacking my children. To me, it felt like I wasn’t wanted on the show, so this is a way to get me out. Because if you attack my children, most likely I will leave. That’s why I felt that way. I do have an investigation going on.”
Andy then spoke on the toxicity on social media, saying he was “appalled” by what he’s seen.
“You can love our cast and you can love to hate our cast if you want, but only in the spirit of entertainment,” he added. “It’s a TV show, everybody, there’s no room for this kind of hate and Bravo unequivocally condemns it.”
Diana Hires Bots
Later, Diana Jenkins joins the reunion stage virtually, due to Covid. Andy shared that Diana was the prime suspect in buying the bots and asked Garcelle if there “was a point where you thought she was behind it.”
“Yeah, if I’m going to be honest, I did think she was behind it, absolutely,” she said.
“You obviously have a very low opinion of me if you think I’m behind bullying a 14-year-old,” said Diana. “I don’t know how evil I must appear that you would even consider the fact that I would do that to Jax.”
Garcelle then dropped a bombshell — exposing that Diana had sent her a “threatening text” — demanding Garcelle pencil out her name in one of the nasty comments Jax relieved. The comment in question stated, “Leave Diana alone.”
“He’s 14 years old. He’s not thinking, ‘Let me take out Diana’s name, so she’s not implicated,'” Garcelle responded. “So Diana thinks we should have taken her name out. When Jax received that, he wasn’t thinking about protecting anybody but himself.”
Kyle Richards then came to Diana’s defense — trying to explain that Diana was asking Jax to block out her name and then re-post it, which rightfully pissed off Garcelle.
“Are you kidding me? So you want, in the middle of me trying to protect my child, I have to then come and save all you?!” she declares. “This is outrageous. That’s outrageous to me.”
Kyle clarified she didn’t feel that way, but was only saying what she thought Diana was trying to say.
Diana Threatens Garcelle
Andy then asked Diana about the “threatening message” she sent Garcelle, It read, “Believe me when I say if anything happens to my children you will be held legally responsible and no Bravo contract will stop me. I guess by making [Sheree Zampino] take down my birthday post you wanted to solidify me as racist and actually ruin my life.”
“It was pretty much, if anything happens to my family, I’m coming for you,” added Garcelle, as Diana claims it was a legal threat, not a physical one. Diana claims she received death threats over the racist attack on Jax.
“I’m not talking to her anymore,” Garcelle said before Diana added she can, “help you protect your child” and has “the means to hire lawyers to “find out who actually did this.” Garcelle ignored her and said she has her own “investigation” underway.
Before part 1 of the reunion concluded, Garcelle asked why Diana was “so obsessed” with her and appealed to Diana to quit attacking her on social media. Diana joked, “Because you’re gorgeous,” to which Garcelle calmly and matter-of-factly told her to leave her alone.
“She is targeting me on social media almost every day, sometimes twice a day,” she said. “I don’t want you harassing me on social media. I don’t harass anyone here on social media. Please, leave me alone. I don’t hate you, Diana, I just want to be left alone.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays, at 8 pm ET, on Bravo
