Kyle Richards Wasn’t Expecting the Season 12 ‘RHOBH’ Reunion to Be ‘That Bad!’

Kyle Richards has been speaking out about the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion and how she navigated the experience. The Bravo OG told Studio 10 that nothing prepared her for Season 12. 

“I knew it was going to be a rough reunion going into it, but I didn’t know it was going to be that bad,” Kyle, who is the only remaining original RHOBH cast member, told the outlet Wednesday. 

Kyle shared that it “took her a while to recover from that day,” after her feud with sister, Kathy Hilton, escalated during filming.    

“I’m feeling better now, but that’s the downside of reality television. That’s why I prefer acting, because it’s a character and you can leave it behind,” the Bravo star added.

The reunion trailer featured Kyle weeping at the end of the filming and pleading with host, Andy Cohen, for a quick exit.

Kyle and Kathy have been at odds ever since co-star, Lisa Rinna, alleged that Kathy melted down and slammed Kyle and other cast members during a cast trip to Aspen. Kyle was criticized by fans, who believed that she had mistreated her sister during the trip, as the episodes unfolded. 

Kyle explained in a recent interview with TooFab that she had hoped that working on the show together would improve her relationship with her sister. 

“It was my idea to bring my sister Kathy on the show and people kept saying, “Do you think that’s a good idea? You’ve been fighting? Are you sure?’” Kyle told the outlet.

She added—“We were getting along and in a good place and I just wanted to have fun with and hang out and be able to bond with her, and she’s funny and she makes me laugh.”

Kyle admitted that things did not go as she had hoped and that the Aspen drama was “disappointing.” 

Kyle asked Rinna to shut down chatter about her sister’s alleged “psychotic break” during the finale episode. Rinna replied that keeping such “vile” information to herself might make her sick and “die.”

Kyle and Kathy’s relationship appears to be on a downward slide, as the siblings recently sparred on Instagram over the dramatic Season 12 reunion trailer. 

Bravo producer, Alex Baskin, shared the spicy preview on his Instagram account, and Kathy responded to a comment expressing concern for her sister’s emotional state, revealed in the clip. 

“Why is she upset and crying? I’m the one who [was] bullied and percacuted [sic] for 10 months,” Kathy asked.  

Kyle was quick to respond to her sister’s social media shade—writing in the same comment section—“Why? You know exactly why.”  

She added—“I don’t think you want me to explain why.” 

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion continues Wednesday at 8 pm ET on Bravo.
