Kyle Richards Claims ‘RHOBH’ Reunion Trailer Made Jamie Lee Curtis Cry!
Kyle Richards’ longtime friend and ‘Halloween Ends’ co-star, Jamie Lee Curtis, reached out to the reality star after she viewed the Season 12 Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion trailer.
Kyle, 53, told People that the 63-year-old actress called her after she watched the dramatic sneak peek and said, “I cried seeing that. I don’t like to see you hurt.”
The Bravo star added—“She kind of gave me a pep talk about what she thinks of me as a person and not to forget it. And it’s never lost on me that she makes the time and the effort to do that for me because she always does.”
Kyle described Curtis as a true friend, commenting, “I’m just appreciative.”
The reunion trailer, which dropped last week, featured cast members — Garcelle Beauvais, Erika Jayne, Diana Jenkins, Dorit Kemsley, Crystal Kung-Minkoff, Lisa Rinna, and Kyle Richards, rehashing the ups and downs of Season 12.
The reunion teased drama between cast “friend” and Kyle’s sister, Kathy Hilton, and Lisa Rinna over Kathy’s alleged behavior during the recently aired cast trip to Aspen, Colorado. Fans know that the group getaway exploded in controversy after Rinna accused Kathy of having an “absolute meltdown” after leaving a private nightclub. Rinna alleged that the socialite went off during their shared drive home and continued inside Kyle’s house. Production did not capture any of Kathy’s alleged rants.
Kyle reportedly suspected that she would have to choose between family and friends, at the time of the reunion taping.
“I need to end up in a better place with her than when she came,” she said about her sister. “Look where we are right now.”
Kyle tearfully asked host, Andy Cohen—“I’m really not okay right now. I don’t want to sit here for a toast. Can I leave?”
An insider told People over the weekend that the sisters brought “a lot of tense energy” to the RHOBH reunion set.
“They cannot reconcile, and it’s all so complicated because nobody’s backing down. Kyle has backed up her sister for years and no matter what she does, Kathy isn’t satisfied,” the source said. “What we’re watching is years of family trauma that hasn’t been dealt within a family dynamic.”
The source noted that despite the siblings’ typically rocky relationship, this situation marked the first time that Kathy’s two daughters, Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton Rothschild, intervened.
“They all grew up together. Kyle acted as a spokesperson for the Hilton family for a long time. They always make up, but this is a little different because Kathy is front and center on camera. She hasn’t been forced to be vulnerable. Kathy and Kyle have spoken loosely via text only since the reunion,” the tipster explained.
Kyle admitted that it took weeks to get over the emotional reunion.
“I was not in a good place for a while after that, to be honest,” she said. “It was the first reunion where we don’t go out after and have dinner or grab a drink, or do a group photo or a group hug. There was none of that. So that sort of tells you how it ended.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion kicks off Wednesday at 8 pm, ET, on Bravo.
