Female ‘Friend’ of Erika Jayne’s Ex Hands Over Jewelry Gifted to Her by Lawyer Amid Bankruptcy War!
A female “friend” of Tom Girardi has handed over expensive gifts she received from the lawyer during his marriage to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Erika Jayne, amid the ongoing investigation into his alleged embezzlement schemes.
The trustee overseeing Tom’s bankruptcy case informed the judge of the development, according to documents obtained by Radar Online.
Erika filed for divorce in November 2020, one month before Tom was slammed with a lawsuit that accused the attorney of embezzling millions from former clients. He was forced into a Chapter 7 bankruptcy and the reality star was later named as a defendant in a federal lawsuit, which alleged that she played a role in Tom’s reported embezzlement schemes. She has since been dragged into multiple legal battles filed by former clients who believe she benefitted from her husband’s alleged misdeeds.
Erika has staunchly denied that she had any knowledge of Tom’s purported crimes.
The trustee sued the reality star for the return of $25 million that Tom’s defunct law firm, Girardi Keese, used to support her company, EJ Global. Erika was also recently ordered to turn over a pair of diamond earrings gifted to her during the marriage.
The judge signed off on the earrings and a list of other items to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Last month, the trustee reported that a “friend” of Tom’s had turned over jewelry gifted to her during his marriage to Erika.
“The pieces are a small Tiffany heart-shaped white gold and pave diamond necklace, a small Cartier gold and pave diamond necklace, a Bulgari pearl and diamond necklace, and diamond stud earrings approximately 1.75 carats each,” the filing stated.
The trustee believes that the jewelry will bring in about $15k.
The new filing states that the individual “found some additional pieces of jewelry in the back of her closet,” which seemingly points to Tom’s former mistress, retired California appellate justice, Tricia A. Bigelow. Attorney Ronald Richards was the first to report the update.
The items include a Cartier watch, a Love necklace, and a Love bracelet. The items are expected to fetch an additional $9,500. All proceeds from the auction will be used to pay back Tom’s creditors.
The Los Angeles Times first broke the story about the judge returning items she received during her four-year affair with the fallen lawyer. The news outlet called out Bigelow after uncovering checks she received from Tom, back in 2017. One check, written in the amount of $5k, was from his former law firm’s account and a separate $10k check was written from the account he shared with the Bravo star.
“Justice Bigelow does not want anything even potentially connected with monies Girardi took from his client-victims,” Alan Jackson, Bigelow’s lawyer, responded via a released statement.
Bigelow’s lawyer confirmed that the pair’s relationship began in 2012 and ended in 2016.
