‘RHOBH’ RECAP: Kyle Richards Claims Erika Jayne Leaked Kathy Hilton’s Aspen “Meltdown” To The Media!
Wednesday night’s Season 12 finale of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ended with fireworks, as Kyle Richards revealed Erika Jayne’s team leaked stories to the press about sister Kathy Hilton’s Aspen “meltdown.” Kyle hosted the finale party at her home which Kathy skipped due to a previous engagement, and things come to a head over the leaks to the press.
The episode kicked off with Garcelle Beauvais preparing her home for a Birkins and Bubbles party, to showcase the popular Beverly Hills accessory to these group of ladies. Most of the ladies already own the designer handbag with the exception of Garcelle. Lisa, Crystal Minkoff, Sheree Zampino, Sutton Stracke and Kyle Richards were all in attendance.
Diana Jenkins, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, and Kathy Hilton couldn’t make the event.
During Garcelle’s party, Lisa Rinna conveniently brings up the topic of Kathy’s Aspen meltdown again and Kyle is noticeably uncomfortable. Kyle makes it very clear to Lisa that she wants to “move on” and have everyone — including the Hiltons — attend her daughter, Farrah’s, wedding. Lisa reluctantly obliged, while Garcelle pointed out the situation should remain between the two sisters. But like a dog with a bone, Lisa brings up the topic again at Kyle’s event one night later.
Over at Kyle’s, she’s prepping for her black-tie Princess Grace Foundation. She’s hosting the event in her backyard during the winter.
Dorit arrives first and the two talk about the drama in the press about Aspen, “You don’t think it’s weird that at every event, every detail is being leaked to the press?” Kyle tells Dorit.
Dorit agreed, “Yes, I do think it’s weird. Do you think it’s somebody in this group?” to which Kyle responded, “100 percent.”
In a talking head confessional Kyle explained, “First, there were leaks in Aspen. Then I heard from a very, very reliable source that there were other leaks that never made it to publication. I was told who the leak was and it’s in this group.”
Kyle added to Dorit, “Someone wants my sister to look bad so they that don’t look as bad.”
As shady as Kyle Richards may be, she called out her two closest friends, Lisa Rinna and Erika Jayne for their obvious scheming to make the Aspen drama larger than life by leaking it to the press in an effort to take the spotlight off Erika Jayne’s nefarious scamming.
Sutton questions the scheming duo, Lisa Rinna and Erika Jayne, “Point blank, did either one of you leak to the press any of this information about Kathy?”
Erika replies, “No, I don’t know how to do that,” to which Kyle replied, “It was someone who works for you. A publicist.”
Kyle explained in a talking head confessional, “Kathy launched an investigation and found out it was someone on Erika’s team that had leaked these stories.”
Erika plays dumb and denies Kyle’s allegations. As she stated in a talking head confessional, “How convenient to accuse my publicist of press leaks. Your sister made an ass of herself in public and everyone saw it. It’s really disappointing to see Kyle try to flip this back on me. Let’s be honest, she’s afraid of Kathy.”
Lisa Rinna called Kyle’s claims, “bulls–t,” in a talking head confessional adding, “Going to this extent to try to cover for her sister, un-f–king believable.”
Kyle continued to explain herself, “People wanted out there what Kathy did to make her look bad and it only f–king hurts me.”
Of course, Erika and Lisa denied the plot to take down Kathy existed and abruptly left Kyle’s party. In the car, Lisa tells Erika, “I told you they were going to try and pin all this on us.” Now why would they feel that way?
Back at the party, Kyle informs the rest of the ladies that she just wants “everything to be OK with my family.”
The Season 12 reunion kicks off October 12, which ended so badly that the ladies did not pose for the ceremonial group picture at the conclusion.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays, at 8 pm ET, on Bravo.
