Kanye West Wears ‘White Lives Matter’ Shirt — Calls Black Lives Matter Movement a ‘Scam!’
Kanye West labeled the “Black Lives Matter” movement a “scam” Tuesday, after sporting a “White Lives Matter” shirt during his Yeezy fashion show.
“Everyone knows that Black Lives Matter was a scam now it’s over you’re welcome,” the rapper wrote on his Instagram Story.
Kanye wore the controversial shirt, which was printed with the pope’s face on the front, alongside political commentator, Candace Owens, during the Paris Fashion Week presentation, on Monday. The designer caused a stir after models in his show walked the runway wearing the same “White Lives Matter” shirt.
Jaden Smith reportedly made a quick exit after reading the message printed on the garments.
“I Had To Dip Lol,” the 24-year-old wrote on Twitter Monday.
“I Don’t Care Who’s It Is If I Don’t Feel The Message I’m Out,” the singer added. “Black Lives Matter.”
“Sending a “WHITE LIVES MATTER” t-shirt down a runway in Paris is literal insanity and no amount of gospel is getting that man through Heaven’s gate, I’m so sorry,” another Twitter user wrote.
Another person tweeted—“mind you kanye was just calling kim [Kardashian] and kris [Jenner] the kkk 2 weeks ago and now he’s wearing a white lives matter shirt.”
Kanye has not commented about his messaging decision past his posted Instagram Story but did remind all his attendees that he cannot be controlled.
“I am Ye, and everyone here knows that I am the leader,” he said. “You can’t manage me.”
The artist added an upbeat surprise amid the debut of his new fashion line. Kanye gave his eldest child, North West, an opportunity to show off her pipes during his show. Kanye’s daughter, whom he shares with ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, sang along to inspirational songs intermingled with beats from recording artists, The Fugees and Macklemore, in the middle of the rotunda.
Kanye and Kim made recent headlines after the singer put his former mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, on blast, urging Kylie Jenner’s former assistant to not take any advice from the famous “momager.”
Kanye captioned the post—“Don’t let Kris make you do playboy like she made [Kylie] and Kim do. Hollywood is a giant brothel Pornography destroyed my family I deal with the addiction instagram promotes it Not gonna let it happen to Northy and Chicago.”
The musician also called out Kim for not allowing him a say in where their children go to school.
Kanye posted Kim’s response, which relayed a message from her mother that read—“I’m almost 67 years old and I don’t always feel great and this stresses me to no end.”
Kanye fired back—“Y’all don’t have so so over my black children and where they go to school. They will not do Playboy and sex tapes. Tell your Clinton friends to come get me. I’m here!”
