‘Sister Wives’ Fans Slam Kody Brown and Family After Meri Drives Solo to Dying Mother’s Bedside!
Fans watched Meri Brown driving to her dying mother’s bedside during the most recent episode of Sister Wives — without Kody or any of her sister wives by her side. Meri learned of Bonnie’s death during her solo drive to Utah—and fans had plenty to say about the TLC star weathering the heartbreak alone.
“I called Kody, he had known [my mom] was in the hospital and that she was not doing well,” Meri said, during the episode.
Kody shared his thoughts about Bonnie during Sunday’s episode, commenting that he was “brokenhearted” after learning that his first mother-in-law had passed away. He did not offer an explanation as to why he didn’t go to support Meri during her final drive to see her mother.
Meri took to Instagram to share more about the day her mom died, and fans were not shy about chiming in on the matter.
“This week’s episode documented the day my sweet mom passed away last year,” Meri wrote.
She continued—“Being alone in my car and on the way to her, praying I would get there before it was too late, was hard enough as it was, but then to get the call that she had passed was truly heartbreaking.”
Meri thanked fans and followers for their messages of support, before sharing more about her mother.
“My mom was TRULY a one of a kind human. Kind and giving beyond measure. She made everyone she met feel uniquely special, and no one ever went away from her without a hug.”
Fans sounded off in the comment section, putting Kody and the rest of the family on blast for not supporting Meri in her time of need.
One fan wrote—“I definitely cried with you. I felt your pain. I’m sorry you were alone. That is not right.”
Another said—“Your “husband” should have dropped everything and been with you in the car.”
A third viewer shared—“I was disappointed that you had to drive all alone. Such a big family yet alone in that difficult time. I felt your pain. ❤️”
One user said—“It breaks my heart that in that huge family, not one of them could have driven you there so that you weren’t alone! What good is having sister wives and all those children if they can’t support you at a time like that?”
Another person chimed in—“I thought that was the whole point of having sister wives and not just sharing a man, plus all those adult kids and no one thought to go with her?”
A viewer wrote—“You should never have been alone on that journey… what happened to “Love should be multiplied and not divided”? Kody, Robyn and Janelle and all them children and no one could be with you? You have Zero Love in that family Meri, go and find Love”
Another fan pointed out—“Sorry to hear the news of your mom’s passing. The saddest thing was you driving alone when you got the news. You shouldn’t have been alone, you are married and if Cody couldn’t be there for you for a time like this then what’s the point of being married to him? What shocked me the most was your ride or die sister wife, Robyn couldn’t even make the sacrifice of going with you. NOT COOL.”
Sister Wives airs on Sundays at 10 pm, ET, on TLC.
