Vanderpump Rules: Katie Maloney & Tom Schwartz’s Divorce Finalized!
Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz have finally settled their divorce after filing for divorce in 2020.
Katie and Tom settled their case after court documents were filed uncontested last week on Monday, in a Los Angeles Superior Court. The filing revealed that the two came to an agreement on how to divide their assets, and after the judge signs off on it, their divorce will be finalized. Katie announced the divorce with a lengthy post on her Instagram.
“After 12 years on an adventure through life together Tom and I are ending our marriage. This ending is not met with resentment or animosity, no sides to choose. We have deep admiration for one another that will always remain and we cherish our friendship. Although we may be on different paths we will continue to love and support one another’s happiness.”
Katie and Tom got married in August 2016 after dating for more than five years. They made their union official three years later in Las Vegas, in front of close friends, but their marriage was just not meant to be. Tom penned his own divorce announcement to fans on his Instagram. Part of it read, “Perception gets skewed bc of seeing snipets [sic] of our lives on the show, but I’m telling you we had some of the most blissful, romantic, fun times humanely possible over the course of our relationship. I’m talking heaven on earth level joy.”
The news of their divorce comes after it was revealed that Tom Schwartz was already hooking up with Raquel Leviss. Tom allegedly made out with Raquel during Scheana Shay and Brock Davies’ wedding in Cancun, Mexico. According to sources at the wedding, Tom and Raquel drank heavily and were already cozy during the nuptials, so that led to them making out. Katie, who had been disinvited from the wedding, didn’t like hearing about her ex hooking up with Raquel.
Raquel responded to Katie through a source close to her.“Raquel is super close to Scheana, she and Katie aren’t close. If they were, she wouldn’t have hooked up with Tom. She has no regrets,” the source said. The source also revealed that since Katie initiated the divorce from her ex, she shouldn’t concern herself with who Tom decides to date, make out or hook up with. The source also said that Raquel has no regrets about the hookup and she has since moved on from what happened in Mexico.
