Meghan King’s Ex-Husband Jim Edmonds Weds Kortnie O’Connor in Italy!
Meghan King’s ex-husband, Jim Edmonds, and Kortnie O’Connor tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on Sunday. The couple’s nuptials were held in Lake Como, Italy.
The former MLB center fielder, who previously appeared on The Real Housewives of Orange County alongside his ex, exchanged vows with his bride in front of 32 guests before sunset at the Giardino del Mosaico, a 19th-century villa that’s part of Villa d’Este.
“This was truly a dream wedding in a beautiful location surrounded by some of the most important people in our lives,” Kortnie told PEOPLE. “It was more than I could have ever imagined.”
“The best part of the wedding is I now get to spend the rest of my life with Kortnie,” Jim gushed about his bride. “For the first time in my life, I finally understand true happiness.”
Kortnie wore an off-the-shoulder floral lace gown, chunky heels, a silver bracelet, and diamond chandelier earrings. She walked down the aisle holding a bouquet of white flowers and wore her hair in loose curls with a sheer veil. Jim wore a classic black tuxedo.
The ceremony was set against a white flower backdrop and highlighted by harp and violin music. The newlyweds celebrated their first moments as man and wife with a romantic boat ride, as their guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, followed by an Italian dinner at the Colonne Room.
The wedding guests were also treated to a boat cruise around Lake Como, on Saturday night.
Jim and Kortnie began dating in January 2020 and got engaged in April 2021.
The baseball pro was married to Meghan from 2014-2019. They share three children, 5-year-old Aspen, and twin boys, Hart and Hayes, 4. Meghan recently dropped two protective orders against her ex amid a seemingly contentious co-parenting relationship.
Jim was previously married to LeeAnne Edmonds, who passed away in 2015. The couple shared two adult daughters, Lauren and Haley. Jim married Allison Raski in 2008, after splitting from LeAnne. They share a daughter, Sutton, and a son, Landon.
In June 2020, the athlete took to Instagram to share about his relationship with his future wife.
“If it wasn’t for this girl, I don’t think I would be here right now,” he wrote. “She showed up in my life just at the right time. Amazing that her taking a chance on a plus one weekend to Mexico pulled me out of my hole and changed my life forever.”
“I was in such a dark place; one that I didn’t think could happen to me,” Jim continued. “Along came this beautiful woman by chance, who lit up my world and brought me back to life. I’m very grateful for my amazing friends, children and this amazing woman for making me a better person and father.”
