The Bachelorette two-part finale kicked off with Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey joining host, Jesse Palmer, in the studio.

Jesse took the audience back to Mexico to watch Rachel and Zach’s conversation before the end of the rose ceremony.

“I’m sure you feel that the Fantasy Suite felt a little off with us,” Zach, 25, told Rachel. “And you know, since Day 1, I’ve always been honest with you, upfront about my feelings. And to be honest, I thought what I was seeing wasn’t the real Rachel.

He added that he was bothered by how she presented herself that night.

“I do understand maybe you were picking up on a little bit of a different vibe,” Rachel, 26, said. “I have been trying to gain clarity this week as well and I do really feel like I did find it.”

Rachel explained that she thought that spending the night with Zach would help her to “find that missing piece.”

“I did really love you, you know,” Zach said. “I saw a future with you, but I need to go.”

Zach exited the scene before Rachel offered both Tino and Aven roses.

Back in the studio, Zach joined Rachel in their first meeting since their time in Mexico. They apologized to each other before addressing the drama.

“I was sick to my stomach the whole week,” Zach said. ”I just knew from our night in the Fantasy Suite. It felt off.”

“I just really want you to know that you meant so much to me,” Rachel replied.

Jesse asked the duo to dish more about their night in the Fantasy Suite.

“It felt immediately off,” Zach explained. “It felt like we were kind of like two strangers in a way. And I think it was the moment that I didn’t fully recognize at that time but maybe you had already realized I wasn’t going to be your future person.”

They both admitted that they had no regrets about how it all played out.

Aven later had a man-to-man chat with Rachel’s father, Tony, during a visit to meet her family.

“I want to know why,” Tony said to Aven. “This is my daughter. She’s my pride and joy. Nobody’s going to take her way from me without a fight.”

Rachel’s mother, Mary Anne, approved of the match, telling her daughter that she found Aven “very sweet.”

“With Aven, I just feel like I trust him,” Rachel agreed.

Aven later told Rachel’s friends, Nate and Sam, that he wanted a future with Rachel, but admitted that he was unsure of when he would feel ready to pop the question. Nate and Sam reported back to Rachel, who found the news “shocking.”

Aven later explained to Rachel— “I have no doubts in my mind about us getting there, whether it’s in a few days or whatever the case may be, Rachel. I just want to be with you and I’m sorry if what they said to you came off differently.”

Gabby’s last man standing, Erich, also met her family for the first time.   Gabby informed her clan beforehand that she “did tell him I loved him.”

Gabby’s grandfather supported the relationship, calling Erich “a keeper.”

“We had this crazy connection from the beginning,” Erich told Gabby’s father, in another convo.

“I love Erich more than I thought I could ever really love someone,” Gabby said in a personal interview. “And I get emotional thinking about talking to him.”

The show also featured Tino meeting Rachel’s family. He told her father that his daughter “means the world to me,”  promising to “make your daughter happy forever.”

“Today went better than I thought it could’ve went,” Rachel said of Tino’s visit. “Big stamp of approval from everyone.”

Aven communicated during his last date with Rachel that he wanted to take time to build a strong foundation before committing to marriage. Rachel was not pleased, as she believed that they were on the same road to the altar. She said that Aven couldn’t “give me what I need right now” and decided to call it quits.

Back in the studio, Aven faced Rachel for the first time, since their breakup. He admitted that he should have been honest with her about his feelings before telling her loved ones.

“I could’ve gone about communicating to you where I was at a lot better,” Aven said.

Rachel quipped—”You were perfect,” but agreed that the timing was not perfect.

Gabby’s finale date with Erich ended in a similar fashion.

“I want to date you in the real world, like, I want to date you and getting engaged before that happens is not how things usually go,” Erich said.

“I don’t want anyone to be forced,” Gabby shouted to producers after the date. ”I’m so sick of this.”

“Here we are, big fat dumpster fire,” Gabby told cameras. “Big f—ing mess.”

The Bachelorette finale continues on Tuesday at 8 pm, ET, on ABC.
