Real Housewives of Orange County alum, Meghan King, filed a temporary restraining order against her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds, on June 18, accusing him of abuse. The case was classified as “adult abuse [without] stalking].”

A St. Louis County Court rep told Page Six that the documents are protected due to the “high security level” of the case. The docs can only be obtained with the permission of one of the involved parties.

TMZ reported that Meghan, 37, alleged that her ex displayed “frequent and consistent verbal abuse” toward her as they co-parented via the app, Family Wizard. Insiders told the outlet that the ex-couple’s conflict stems from co-parenting disputes. Meghan and Jim share three children, Aspen, 5, and twin boys, Hart and Hayes, 4.

Jim’s rep, Steve Honig, responded to the filing, telling TMZ—“This request for an order of protection is completely baseless and furthermore makes an absolute mockery of the pain suffered by the millions of women in this country who are legitimate victims of abuse.”

A hearing to determine if the order will stand permanently is set for September 19.

Meghan and Jim’s divorce was finalized in May 2021. She revealed earlier this year that they do not speak and co-parent through an app.

“I don’t know what coparenting is,” Meghan told Us Weekly, in February. “I struggle with communication [with him]. In order to coparent, you have to communicate right? Yeah, so that would be a good start. … Jim hates me. It’s horrible.”

The former Bravo star previously accused Jim of cheating on her multiple times during their marriage. He denied the accusations.

Meghan gave an update on the co-parenting relationship during a July appearance on Caroline Stanbury’s “Divorced Not Dead” podcast, only weeks after filing the restraining order.

“It’s horrible,” she said. “It’s so detrimental for the kids [and] for us as individuals. It sucks.”

She explained how parenting via the app had helped the difficult situation.

“It makes me feel safer because it makes me feel like the verbal abuse will be toned down a little bit more,” she explained. “Unfortunately, and shockingly, that’s not always the case, but it does give me a little bit more solace knowing that I have eyes that can be on it.”

The former MLB star ripped into Meghan for spotlighting their son’s potty training challenges, the same month. Jim’s rep spoke to TMZ, slamming Meghan for allegedly using their 4-year-old son, Hart, to gain attention on social media.

Jim wishes Meghan would respect their children’s privacy and stop putting their son and his challenges in the spotlight,” the rep said.

Jim’s response came two days after Meghan took to Instagram to ask followers for advice on how to help her son through potty training  “detours and roadblocks,” amid his “journey” with cerebral palsy.

Meghan revealed in the video that she had been attempting to potty train her son for a year. She connected the child’s struggles to “sensory issues,” stemming from his cerebral palsy diagnosis.

Jim disputed her remarks, claiming that Hart did not have cerebral palsy, but a different medical condition called periventricular leukomalacia or PVL.
