Retired Justice Gives Back Lavish Gifts From Tom Girardi Before The Feds Go After Her!
Tricia A. Bigelow, a retired Los Angeles appellate justice, has returned expensive gifts she received during her relationship with the estranged ex of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Erika Jayne, Tom Girardi.
The Los Angeles Times called out Bigelow after uncovering checks she received from Girardi back in 2017. One check, written in the amount of $5k, was from his former law firm’s account and a separate $10k check was written from the account he shared with the Bravo star.
The former justice claimed that she did not remember cashing the checks because her relationship with Girardi was over at the time they were written. The ongoing investigation prompted Bigelow to return the gifts to the trustee handling Girardi’s firm’s bankruptcy case.
“Justice Bigelow does not want anything even potentially connected with monies Girardi took from his client-victims,” Alan Jackson, Bigelow’s lawyer, wrote in a released statement.
The statement claimed that Bigelow was “horrified and appalled” that she had received “tainted gifts” without her knowledge. Bigelow’s attorney added that his client had disposed of all items gifted to her by Girardi last week.
Erika’s lawyer, Evan Borges, noted in a statement that he would like to see a “public account of what Justice Bigelow says she received and what she has returned to the trustee.”
Erika filed for divorce in November 2020, one month before Girardi was slammed with a lawsuit that accused the lawyer of embezzling millions from former clients. He was forced into a Chapter 7 bankruptcy and the reality star was later named as a defendant in a federal lawsuit, which alleges that she played a role in Tom’s reported embezzlement schemes.
In December, Erika took to social media to accuse her ex of cheating with Bigelow, after reportedly discovering damning text messages on Girardi’s phone.
The reality star posted a collage of jaw-dropping messages and pics supposedly swapped between her husband and his alleged lover.
“This is Justice Tricia A. Bigelow. She was f**king my husband Tom Girardi and he was paying her Saks bill and paying for her plastic surgery,” she captioned the scandalous post before hitting her delete button.
“Miss you babe. Makeup sex?” one alleged message said.
Jackson responded by telling the L.A. Times that Erika’s “actions in maliciously doxxing the Justice were nothing short of criminal.”
“We are considering our options to protect Justice Bigelow from further harassment,” Bigelow’s lawyer said, at the time.
In June, 2021, Lance Ito, the judge famous for presiding over the O.J. Simpson murder trial, wrote an article for the Metropolitan News-Enterprise, announcing Bigelow’s retirement. Bigelow revealed that she had taken a private mediator position at Signature Resolution, in August 2021.
In September 2021, Erika hinted on social media that she questioned why the lawyer investigating the case wasn’t dragging Tom’s other supposed lovers into court.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays at 8 pm, ET, on Bravo.
