Mama June Shannon scored a legal victory Wednesday when she appeared as a plaintiff on A&E series, Court Night Live. The Mama June: Road to Redemption star sued former friend and YouTuber, Adam Barta, and walked away $5000 richer.

June alleged that Barta used her as a consultant from February to August for his upcoming TV special, ‘The Dish.’ The WE tv star claimed that she was never compensated for her time or properly recognized as an executive producer, as promised.

June explained during the episode that she believed that Barta was using her “likeness and name for his financial gain,” as she had been “doing reality TV for 11 years and he knows that.”

June was asked why she didn’t propose a contract to solidify the arrangement.

“Because [during] that time, I was in between management, doing stuff on my own,” she explained. “And at first, I didn’t think he was going to constantly just ask and ask and ask [for my involvement].”

“I felt like I was being used,” she added. “I have a life myself, I have a TV show myself, so I can’t produce his show for free.”

Barta claimed that he did send a contract to June, which she supposedly never signed. He also denied that any financial agreement existed.

“I texted the contract to her, she did not sign it, never acknowledged it at all,” he claimed. “I sent it back in March of this year.

He added—“We’ve done so much work together over the years so we’ve established this relationship.”

The judge ruled in June’s favor, pointing out that her high-profile status was what “drew [Barta] to her like a moth to a flame.” The judge ordered Barta to pay the reality star $5K and list her as an executive producer on his special.

“I just want my friend back, that’s all I want,” Barta stated after the ruling. “She deserves [the executive producer title] but this was a project close to my heart.”

“He’s actually getting a very, very good deal,” June commented, after her win. “Normally, it would be $25,000+ and I hope his show succeeds … and I hope he’s okay with losing all the money that he has put aside for this project.”

June previously appeared alongside her then-boyfriend, Geno Doak, on Barta’s show, Celebrity Couch Coaster, in May 2021.

“I’m trying to support Adam, I’m trying to support myself and we’re just trying to make some f—ing money,” she said, during the episode. “I went from losing Honey Boo Boo and bouncing my big ass up again to Mama June: From Not to Hot, then I went through my little f—ed up, crazy thing. And now I’m back on the top.”

June took to her Instagram Stories ahead of her A&E appearance to let local St. Petersburg, FL fans know that they could come watch the legal case unfold, live.

She stated— “I’m tired of people trying to get rich off my name for free.”

Barta also used Instagram to promote the show.

He wrote—“Join me TONIGHT as I get sued by my so called ‘best friend.’”

Barta, who later confirmed on Instagram that he wanted to “move forward to good things,” promoted his special late Wednesday night, crediting June as an executive producer.
