Christine Quinn Leaving Netflix Hit ‘Selling Sunset’
Christine Quinn is exiting Selling Sunset after five years on the Netflix real estate series, Page Six reports.
Sources told the outlet that Quinn is leaving the hit show in order to pursue other endeavors, including walking “the catwalks in NY, Milan, and Paris.”
“Christine knew this day would come. She’s proud of the work she put in to make ’Selling Sunset’ a success, but she could see herself phasing out of the cast even before she began filming Seasons 4 and 5,” a separate insider said.
The source added—“Her goals are far bigger than playing a villain on an ensemble reality series. She can’t wait to start the next chapter of her career and show the world who she truly is.”
Insiders claimed that the decision was a mutual one between the 33-year-old real estate agent and Netflix after she claimed to have received threatening comments from the show’s producer.
“After Christine made her feelings known about Adam DiVello, she came to a mutual decision with Netflix and the show’s production companies that it made sense to exit before Season 6,” one source alleged.
The reality star spoke out about her alleged interactions with DiVello during a May appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. Quinn claimed that the producer told her to “kill” herself after an argument.
“We have to look at what Adam DiVello has done as a whole, as a human being, as the person that he is,” Quinn told podcaster, Alexandra Cooper.
The reality star claimed that the producer “actually told me to go fall down the stairs and kill myself at one point.”
“In addition to that, I don’t want to get too much into it, but there was inappropriate sexual misconduct,” she said.
Quinn alleged that the backlash came after she accused producers of creating false narratives and using “editing magic” to portray her as a villain.
Quinn previously said that she planned to return to the series, despite having “terminated her contract” with the Oppenheim Group. Quinn did not appear on the Season 5 Selling Sunset reunion after allegedly testing positive for COVID-19, which raised doubts about her return to the show.
Quinn made headlines in June after she was purportedly banned from the 2022 MTV Movie and TV Awards.
The Netflix reality series won the most coveted award of the night for Best Docu-Reality Series. Quinn was nowhere to be seen as Adam DiVello accepted the award.
“My guess is that they knew in advance that ‘Selling Sunset’ was going to win, hence why Adam [Divello] was in attendance, and it made it less sticky of a situation to not have Christine present,” a source told Page Six.
Divello gave the acceptance speech alongside “Selling Sunset” cast members, Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Heather Rae Young, and Emma Hernan.
The insider explained—“The entire cast (including Christine) received a save the date from both MTV and from Netflix back in February for the event. Many conversations were had about inviting her with a plus-one, her arrival time, etc. Christine was then officially disinvited last week.”
