RHOC’s Tamra and Eddie Judge Close CUT Fitness After Nearly a Decade ‘It’s a Loss!’
Tamra Judge and her husband, Eddie Judge, are closing the doors to their business for good. The Real Housewives of Orange County couple have officially closed their Rancho Santa Margarita, California gym, CUT Fitness.
Bravo documented the couple opening their business in March 2013. CUT — which stands for “Cardio Unique Training” — Fitness specialized in personal training, nutrition advice, and Spartan race-focused training.
In March 2020, Tamra reminded the public of the gym’s focus on social media, as the COVID pandemic shut down similar operations.
“We are a small group gym. We don’t cater to the masses, ever. We never have more than 50 people here at a time,” Tamra said. ”We might be called a micro gym, but we are a very large facility, about 5,000 sq. ft.”
The reality TV couple was able to briefly bounce back after businesses reopened, and even rented out part of their space to a chiropractor. They were ultimately forced to shutter the fitness studio, earlier this summer.
Tamra and Eddie have been selling off CUT gym equipment since the end of June, via the company’s website and Instagram page. They have also used personal social media pages to sell workout gear.
Tamra, who is set to make her return to RHOC, addressed closing down CUT Fitness during Monday’s episode of the podcast she co-hosts with RHOBH alum, Teddi Mellencamp, “Two Ts in a Pod.” The duo was chatting about how to handle online critics when Tamra recalled an Instagram comment fired off by a fellow small business owner.
Tamra clarified the timeline surrounding the couple’s decision to close the business, in her response.
“Oh no wonder she’s going back to [RHOC]. She has no money, she has to close her gym down,” the comment read.
“We decided to close our gym down way before I got asked back to the show. So that had nothing to do with anything that’s going on right now,” Tamra clarified.
Tamra, 54, added that the gym had been doing well “until the pandemic” and that the decision to close had been difficult.
“Listen, we almost made it to [10] years. I’m proud of what we did, what we built. And you know what, you’ll all find out — more things are coming,” Tamra said.
“It is what it is,” she continued. “It’s sad. It’s a loss. It’s 100% a loss. It’s hard.”
Tamra and Eddie, who tied the knot in 2013, also own a CBD company called Vena. The products, which include oil, gel capsules, and topical creams, are sold online and were recently picked up by Sally Beauty.
“We have a very successful CBD business,” the Bravo star revealed. “It pays me way more than the show.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County is currently in production.
