‘Love & Marriage: Huntsville’ Star Destiny Accused of Helping Martell Holt Fight Melody For Full Custody!
Love & Marriage: Huntsville star, Destiny Payton, is speaking out about her alleged role in Martell and Melody Holt’s custody battle.
Melody and Destiny fell out after Melody asked for time to herself after the cast wrapped Season 3. Some fans believed that Melody was to blame for the breakdown of the friendship, but Melody claimed that she worked to keep communication flowing with Destiny through text messages. Destiny didn’t appreciate Melody suddenly shelving their friendship, but Melody didn’t understand why her friend wouldn’t allow her space, especially because they had both experienced recent divorces. Destiny defined her relationship with Melody as unclear during the reunion and did not defend her after LaTisha Scott dissed her as a friend.
Melody believed that she had proven her devotion to the friendship, especially because she had given Destiny thousands to help pay her attorney fees amid her divorce and custody case. She didn’t believe that an entire friendship should be questioned just because she temporarily leaned on texting more than phone calls.
Circulating online rumors allege that Destiny had sided with Martell Holt in his bid for custody of the ex-couple’s four kids, and had even testified on his behalf.
An Instagram user recently asked Destiny to verify the rumor.
The person wrote— “Is it true that you testified for Martell in the custody case against Mel? It’s all over social media.”
Destiny replied — “Hell NO…I’m fighting my own battles with court. Y’all believe ANYTHING.”
Martell and Melody faced co-parenting hurdles after moving past the scandalous affair that ended their marriage. Melody previously cut off filming scenes with Martell, temporarily shutting down communication with her ex.
LAMH fans haven’t been shy about calling out Martell for pursuing full custody of the four children. Some believe that his motives stem from Melody’s decision to end the marriage after Martell’s longtime affair with his ex-mistress. Martell, who shares a child with the woman, seemingly still blames Melody for the split.
Martell and Melody were granted joint legal and physical custody of their four minor children after their divorce was finalized, last year. They had an agreement to work together to determine a weekly schedule and agreed to share expenses relating to the upbringing of the kids.
Melody revealed that she was embroiled in a custody battle with her ex, during a recent interview with The Shade Room.
“It’s interesting…we’ve been doing a week on week off since when I first left in 2020. Sometimes two weeks on and three weeks off, whatever. We’ve been doing an exchange for a long time. So, it’s very interesting, I will say. We already have joint custody. [He’s looking for full custody],” she explained.
Melody’s disclosure comes only weeks after the former couple enjoyed a family vacation in Destin, Florida, stirring up social media chatter about a potential reconciliation. Martell has since moved on with Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Shereé Whitfield.
