Why Chanel Ayan & Lesa Milan Are SCARED of Phaedra Parks Joining ‘RHODubai’
Chanel Ayan and Lesa Milan are against Phaedra Parks joining the cast of The Real Housewives of Dubai. ET spoke to the duo about Bravo’s first international franchise and asked why they’re opposed to the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star joining their crew.
Phaedra made a surprise splash in a cameo appearance on the show, earlier this season.
Phaedra spoke to the outlet earlier this month and shared that she would be open to returning to “Housewives,” especially the franchise set in the United Arab Emirates.
“Now that, is a possibility. That is a strong possibility,” Phaedra said of possibly landing a spot on the RHODubai cast. “You’ve got to run with people who are obviously running with the same purpose and destination.”
“If you get out of the miry clay, honey, you got to stay out of the miry clay,” Phaedra added, using a Biblical term for a dicey situation.
Phaedra appeared on an episode of the newest Housewives franchise as a friend of Caroline Brooks.
“What brings in the ratings, brings in the ratings, honey. Just look at the numbers,” Phaedra recently told Page Six.
Chanel and Lesa were less than enthusiastic about Phaedra’s prediction about her potential future on the show. They told ET that they think that the former Bravo star needs to “find her own show.”
“I think she needs to find her own show, we are good where we are,” Chanel said. “That’s my personal opinion.”
Lesa agreed and added that she believed that Phaedra had proved to be a better fit with the current cast of “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club,” which is currently streaming on Peacock.
“We love Phaedra, she’s nice and stuff, but I think she’s more Ultimate Girls Trip and the shows that she’s doing,” Lesa said.
Chanel chimed in— “Yeah, not ours. Sorry, Phaedra. You can only show up and say, ‘Hello.’ That’s more than enough.”
Chanel and Lesa, who both live with their families and run businesses in Dubai, were asked what they see as the biggest fan misconception about living in the Middle East.
“I think people naturally assume that we have to be covered up and that we don’t have freedom, and that’s not the case,” Lesa replied. “I’m a successful entrepreneur. I’m the owner of Minaroe, which is a luxury brand I built from the ground up in Dubai, with the support of my husband, but on my own.”
“We’re free,” she added. “We can do what we want, freedom of speech, and it’s amazing. It’s such a good place to live.”
“Yeah, people have this conception that you can’t be yourself or you can’t live your best life,” Chanel said. ”As long as you follow the rules, and you live your good life, honestly, you can be whoever you want. I’ve lived there for 18 years, so I have seen it grow from when it was nothing to where it is, so I’m actually proud to be living there.”
The Real Housewives of Dubai airs Wednesdays at 9:00 pm ET, on Bravo.
