‘RHOBH’ Alum Taylor Armstrong Makes Bravo History By Joining ‘RHOC!’
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, Taylor Armstrong, is returning to the popular franchise — this time, as a cast member on The Real Housewives of Orange County.
Taylor, 51, is making Bravo history as the first Real Housewives star to cross over to another city. Bravo announced the news via Instagram, noting that Taylor will be appearing as a “friend of,” not a main Housewife.
Both Bravo and Taylor’s official Instagram accounts revealed the news to fans on Aug 1. “We’ve had ENOUGH of not having Taylor Armstrong on our screens… she is officially joining the cast of #RHOC for Season 17 as a friend-of! Drop a 🍊to welcome her to the OC 👇” read the caption.
Several Bravo stars congratulated Taylor on her return, including Taylor’s former RHOBH costar, Camille Grammer Meyer. “Congratulations @officialtaylorarmstrong 👏👏 I’m so happy for you! Go OG!!” Camille wrote. Real Housewives of Orange County alum, Gretchen Rossi, commented, “👏👏👏 Love this! 😍❤️,” while Shahs of Sunset’s Reza Farahan wrote, “👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥 Go get ‘em @officialtaylorarmstrong.”
Taylor was one of the original cast members starring on RHOBH in its season premiere in 2010. She remained a main Housewife for the first three seasons before appearing as a guest. During her time on the show, Taylor’s image was overshadowed by financial issues and domestic violence within her marriage. She later confirmed that she had been physically abused by then-husband, Russell Armstrong, and had to undergo reconstructive surgery for an orbital fracture after being beaten by him.
In July 2011, after filming season two of RHOBH, Taylor filed for divorce from Russell after six years of marriage, citing verbal and physical abuse. On August 15, 2011, exactly one month after their split was announced, Taylor found her estranged husband’s body inside a home he rented on Mulholland Drive following their separation. Russell died from an apparent hanging.
Since his death, Taylor has spoken out about the domestic abuse she experienced in her marriage and became an advocate for fellow survivors. In April 2014, Taylor got remarried to John Bluher, an attorney, in Los Angeles.
Taylor returned to reality TV in June 2022 on Peacock’s Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club alongside former RHOBH costar, Brandi Glanville, former RHONY Housewives Dorinda Medley and Jill Zarin, Real Housewives of Atlanta alums Phaedra Parks and Eva Marcille, and RHOC legends Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge, who recently confirmed her return.
Filming for season 17 of RHOC began last month, however, no premiere date has been announced, yet.
