Matt Roloff shared with fans on Monday that his father, Ronald James Roloff, passed away.
Little People, Big World star paid tribute to his father who passed away at age 84. Matt, 60, wrote, “A sad week for the Roloff Family.. my dad… affectionately known as ‘papa’ to his 10 grandchildren and his 10 great grandkids peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior yesterday evening.” The TLC star also added that Ronald was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and inspiration to many people.
In the post, Matt continued, “He literally loved people and anyone who ever came in contact with him knows that! His love for Jesus was so evident throughout his entire life and certainly in his final hours.” The reality TV star also opened up about Ronald’s last moments and who he spent his time with before he passed. “With his special love of his life (since grade school) his wife of 63 years ‘Huny’ right by his side … many of us were with him reading his favorite Bible Verses. I would list one but he had so many favorites.”
Matt Roloff said some of his father’s last words to him were how proud he was of him and everything he had accomplished. Ronald also quoted one of his favorite verses, John 14:2-3. Matt concluded his post by saying his father lived a great life and thanked everyone who rushed to be by his side during his final moments. “Thanks to all the grandchildren that were able to race to his bedside and hold his hands with mom and I in his final moments here on earth!! love love to all! @jacobroloff45 @zroloff07 @jeremyroloff @mollyjosilvius #lovelove #believeinchristforpeace.”
Fans of the family flooded his comment section with love and support, while Matt and his family go through this tough time. One person wrote, “My heart aches for you and your family Matt! So enjoyed Papa on the show Thankful he is resting in the arms of Jesus. No more tears, no more pain, Praise God! Prayers of comfort.” Before Matt’s Instagram post, the Little People, Big World star rarely posted his parents on social media — except when Matt told fans in July 2021 that Ronald had been suffering from chronic lymphocytic leukemia which is a type of blood cancer. He wrote that, at the time, Papa was to undergo chemotherapy and would continue with treatment for a few months.
