Luis Ruelas’ Ex-Wife Accuses Him Of Domestic Violence, Police Reports Revealed!
Real Housewives of New Jersey star, Teresa Giudice’s, fiancé Luis Ruelas’ ex-wife is accusing him of domestic violence, according to police reports.
Luis’ divorce from his ex-wife, Marisa DiMartino, spanned several years, and according to reports, also included several domestic violence instances. According to police reports obtained by Heavy, from the Orangeburg Police Department, Marisa called the police on Luis from the time they separated in 2010 until 2016. Before the two got a divorce, Luis and Marisa were living together in Blauvelt, New York.
The first incident happened when they had just separated in 2010. Marisa called the police in December and claimed that Luis came to their New York home and began a verbal argument with her. Ruelas had already left the house by the time police arrived and they concluded that no offense was committed at the time. In October 2012, DiMartino called the police again when she accused Luis of starting an argument with her when he dropped off their children.
The report stated, “The dispute became heated and culminated” with Ruelas “pushing” DiMartino “into a metal support pole in the garage. This action took place in the presence of the couple’s son.” At the time, Marisa declined any treatment and refused to press charges against Luis. If she wanted, Marisa who was 38 at the time, could have charged him with harassment. Another incident happened in June 2016 when Luis went over to pick up their son for visitation. According to his ex-wife, Ruelas had come over to talk to her but she didn’t want to and chose not to let him in.
Marisa said at the time that Luis began banging on the door and yelling until she opened it. According to reports, the police told her they can do custody exchanges from the police department. They also advised Marisa that she can seek an order of protection from family courts. The same month, DiMartino went to the police claiming that Ruelas had picked up their son from school without telling her, which was against their custody agreement. In that report, Luis’ ex-wife checked a few boxes, including whether or not Ruelas had ever “threatened to kill you or your children.” She also checked yes to “is the suspect violently and constantly jealous of you?” and “has the physical violence increased in frequency or severity over the past six months?”
In June 2016, Luis himself called the police to report that he had gone to pick up his son and seen DiMartino’s boyfriend’s car in the lot. Despite past domestic violence accusations, Luis and Marisa now have a good co-parenting relationship. In 2021, Marisa spoke of their relationship to In Touch Weekly saying, “I’m really happy for Teresa and Luis. I’m happy for him. Luis is actually the father of my children, and he’s a really good person.”
