‘RHOSLC’ Fans Drag Erika Jayne Amid Jen Shah’s Guilty Plea ‘You’re Next!’
Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star, Jen Shah, pleaded guilty to fraud Monday and is facing up to 14 years in prison—but she isn’t the only “Housewife” feeling the heat on social media.
Bravo fans ripped into Erika Jayne after news of Jen’s guilty plea broke, amid the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s own legal war.
Erika’s estranged husband, Tom Girardi, and his law firm, Girardi Keese, were forced into a Chapter 7 bankruptcy in December 2020, one month after the reality star announced that she had filed for divorce. Tom is embroiled in multiple lawsuits that allege that the former famed lawyer embezzled funds owed to clients. Many of the alleged victims are now going after Erika because they believe that she benefited from money transferred from Tom’s firm.
Fans took to Twitter to sound off after Jen’s guilty plea, making it clear that no one had forgotten that prison could be in Erika’s future, as well.
Several users joked about Erika potentially bumping into her fellow “Housewife” behind bars. Others compared Jen to Real Housewives of New Jersey star, Teresa Giudice, who spent a year in prison, for fraud.
One user asked—“Jen Shah possibly doing 11 years prison time while Erika Jayne roams free?!!”
Another fan wrote—“Jen shah sentenced to prison and erika jayne still terrorizing the streets freely do you see the problem with the legal system.”
“Erika Jayne when she hears Jen Shah going to prison and she’s going to be next.,” one person posted above a gif of a shifty-eyed monkey.
One viewer snarked—“Teresa [Giudice] Jen Shah and Erika Jayne. A few more criminal housewives and they can have their own jail show: Real Housewives of the Prison.”
Another pointed out—“Jen Shah going away doesn’t change that Erika‘s lifestyle, knowingly or not, was supported by stolen money that she’s fighting to hang on to while calling the victims liars on national TV. That’s why people still hate her. And on that same front, Coach knew.”
One user tweeted—“Jen Shah is going to JAIL. #RHOSLC Erika you’re next, sweetie.”
Another chimed in—“Jen Shah going to prison & Erika Jayne needs to be following right behind her. Bravo can start a real housewives of the penitentiary.”
One person said—“JEN SHAH PLEAD GUILTY AND COULD GET UP TO 14 YEARS …Somewhere Erika is shaking in her Chanel boots.”
Another tweeted—“Erika needs to read the many years of CRIME admitted to today by Jen Shah. Jaynie has also been a party to many years of CRIME & needs to wake up it’s just a matter of time before the IRS steps in.THE EARRINGS came from victims settlements $.”
In a June interview with ET, Erika said that she believed that fans had been overly harsh toward her due to an overload of “sensationalized headlines.”
“It’s not a good place to be and I feel like the court of public opinion is also hard to navigate because people don’t have all of the facts, and they tend to gravitate towards sensationalized headlines,” Erika told the outlet.
“I think people have sort of dehumanized me into this place,” she said.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays at 8 pm, ET, on Bravo.
