The Family Chantel’s Pedro Jimeno Files For Divorce And Restraining Order, Accuses Chantel Of Stealing Money!
The Family Chantel stars Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno have ended their marriage. Pedro filed for divorce, a restraining order against his estranged wife, and also accused her of stealing money.
According to court documents, Pedro Jimeno filed first on May 27, then Chantel Everett later filed her own petition, in addition to a mutual restraining order. Pedro claims their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
He also filed an emergency motion on the same day, accusing Chantel of withdrawing $257K from their joint business account just five days before they were separated — allegedly transferring the money to an account in her and her sister’s name.
The Dominican native claims he tried to resolve the issue but was unsuccesful, so he asked the judge to make her transfer the money over to a joint account until it could be divvied up in the divorce.
The judge denied the request for an emergency hearing, but said the court would set a hearing for a later date to resolve the issue.
The troubled couple haven’t publicly acknowledged their split but viewers saw the writing on the wall, as their marital woes played out on their TLC reality series. In season two of The Family Chantel, Pedro revealed his new blossoming real estate career. His career path caused tension with his wife, Chantel. Pedro noted that he tried to include his wife in his after-work activities but she doesn’t want to join him.
According to Pedro, “Most of the time, I invite her [and] she say the same thing all the time, ‘I don’t like them, I don’t like spending time with them.” Additionally, Pedro complained about Chantel not taking care of their house. He said she never cleans the house and all the household responsibilities fall to him.
Chantel opened up about their marital problems during a recent episode, “I felt Pedro pulling away from me before he got his new job. But since he’s gotten his new job, like, the affection has really stopped, altogether.” Chantel admitted that the issue was deeper than his gaming habit. She added, “It’s not about the game. It’s about him and why he doesn’t want to spend quality time with me.”
Chantel Everett, 31, and Pedro Jimeno, 30, met and fell in love when the registered nurse traveled to the Dominican Republic during season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé, in which they got engaged in secret. The relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where Chantel and her family lives.
Pedro is seeking an equitable division of all marital property.
The Family Chantel airs Mondays, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, on TLC.
