’90 Day Fiance’ Alum Paul Staehle’s Son Pierre Taken By CPS!

Child Protective Services has removed 90 Day Fiancé alum, Paul Staehle’s son, Pierre, from his father’s custody, after the duo was officially reported missing.

Paul Staehle denied kidnapping his 3-year-old son, claiming that they had been on an extended work trip since early June. He alleged that the entire ordeal was  a huge mix-up. 

The former TLC  star told TMZ last week that he was aware that he and his son had been officially reported MIA in Louisville, Kentucky, in a since-deleted bulletin by Missing People America. He stated that his son was safe and sound. TMZ confirmed that Paul and Pierre had returned home to Kentucky, in a recent update. The duo was first reported missing, via a police notice, on June 9. 

He explained that he’d spent the last month hunting work, and had been traveling between Pennsylvania and Florida with the child. He claimed that he took Pierre along because his son suffers from extreme separation anxiety. CPS officials took custody of Pierre’s younger brother, Ethan, who was reportedly staying with Paul’s mother.

Paul told the outlet that they arrived in Louisville on Saturday, and met with his parents in a park. They contacted CPS officials who reportedly transported Pierre to the foster home where his younger brother, Ethan, 1, had been placed. 

“Paul said he turned Pierre over to his parents because he didn’t want to deal with all the drama involving Child Protective Services,” the outlet reported. 

Paul shares his two sons, Pierre, who was born in March 2019, and Ethan, who was born in February 2021, with his ex, Karine Martins.

Paul took to Instagram amid the drama, to update fans on the messy situation. 

“If two parents have their kids taken, the grandparents or [a] relative should be allowed to have temporary custody,” Paul wrote on July 1. “To ban the grandparents from the children as well as the natural parents is very sad.”

Karine addressed the matter in a translated statement that read, “There was some news in the last few days about Karine, her kids and ex-husband. I would like to communicate that Karine is doing well and doing everything she was guided to by the law.”

Paul and Karine are scheduled to appear in family court on July 11, for a case management conference. 

Paul and Karine’s tumultuous relationship was featured on both 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way and 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?. The couple tied the knot in 2017, after the early days of their in-person romance were chronicled for the popular reality series. 

In 2020, their rocky romance led to dueling restraining orders, which were later dropped. In November 2020, Paul revealed that he and Karine had been fired from the TLC series. 

He wrote, “Update. The false allegations against we were withdrawn. We are currently in Brazil. Karine’s green card was stolen and the embassy is closed because of Covid19 so we will be have indefinitely until we can get her a boarding foil hopefully before her green card expires. Karine is pregnant with our next son Ethan Martins Staehle who will be born in February.”
