Kenya Moore Says Marlo Hampton & Her Ex Marc Daly Are Just Alike!
Marlo Hampton and Kenya Moore almost came to blows on Sunday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, after Kenya came to Kandi Burruss’ defense during Drew Sidora’s fitness event. The heated exchange played out amid brewing tension between Marlo and Kandi, but it was Kenya and Marlo who had to be separated before things turned physical.
Kenya and Marlo reflected on the messy drama while appearing on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Aftershow. They both admitted that they weren’t proud of how they allowed the drama to escalate during the workout event.
“I hate I let her get me there. But it’s like, with her, she knows how to poke you,” Marlo said. “But you just have to be strong and just laugh at her. Let it be comical.”
Kenya, 51, fired shots at her co-star as she shared observed similarities between her interactions with Marlo and past interactions with her ex-husband, Marc Daly.
“I think what it is is that Marlo behaves the same way that my husband used to behave,” Kenya said. “They pretend that they like you and that they care about you. But the moment they get angry, they try to destroy you with their words.”
Kenya dissed Marlo last month during an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show. The reality star was asked to address rumors claiming that she was jealous over Marlo finally scoring a full-time peach.
“Jealous?” she said to guest host, Michael Rapaport. “That’s silly. I’m an icon. She’s an ex-con.”
Kenya asked— “Why would I be jealous?”
Kenya later explained that her main issue with Marlo was her supposed goal to be the next NeNe Leakes.
“You’ll never fill those shoes, so just stay in your lane,” Kenya advised, at the time. “Or, you know, behind your bars.”
Marlo said in a previous interview with Page Six that Kenya was less than thrilled about her landing a full-time spot on the cast.
“I’ve been here for 10 years, so it’s home,” Marlo said, in the April interview. “But it’s like the next level now and I’m just so excited because I know all my fans and supporters are so excited to really get to see all of Marlo, get to know all of me — besides the fashion and me and my slick mouth.”
“I feel deep inside that she didn’t feel that I should have [a peach],” the Bravo star said. “She didn’t want me to be her equal or sitting on the couch next to her. I’ve been there, but she’s always been able to feel like she had one on top of me, saying she was a peach holder. But I don’t think she was genuine at all in being excited for me.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs on Sundays at 8 pm, ET, on Bravo.
