Diana Jenkins Dragged For ‘Passive Aggressive Racism’ After Saying Garcelle Beauvais Was ‘Unwelcoming!’
Diana Jenkins recently let the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills audience know what she thinks of Garcelle Beauvais—but fans are not on her side.
Diana called Garcelle the most “unwelcoming” woman in the group during last week’s episode, implying that she found it a struggle to form a friendship with the actress. The newbie was quickly hit by backlash, with some fans calling her seemingly premature assessment racially motivated.
Viewers had plenty to say about Diana’s comment and sounded off on Twitter.
One fan tweeted—“Diana saying Garcelle is the most unwelcoming… smells fishy to me!”
A user wrote—“Diana had a whole argument with Sutton the previous day and was annoyed with her on the boat but said that Garcelle was the most unwelcoming – that racism is just JUMPING out of that woman.”
Another viewer chimed in—“the only reason we know about Diana’s brother is because Garcelle asked, but she’s the unwelcoming one? girl you’re just racist.”
“When have we seen Diana try to get to know Garcelle? We have seen Garcelle try to talk Diana…. Very sus comment..” one fan said.
Another viewer tweeted—“Making a mental list of the passive aggressive racism going on in this season against Garcelle….Crystal with her “big words,” Diana saying she’s the most unwelcoming…noted.”
“Diana saying Garcelle is the most unwelcoming is racially motivated. Idc. Like Rinna, Erika, and Kyle are the nicest people,” one user pointed out.
“LMAO imagine Garcelle giving even a fraction of a shit about being friends with Diana Jenkins,” another laughed.
One viewer wrote—“Funny how she says Garcelle is the unfriendly one and shit when we now know Diana is anti Black.”
“Maybe Garcelle’s been the least welcoming because she knows what you think of “Black content creators” Diana…” another said.
Diana’s aired comment dropped in the middle of real-time controversy. The newest RHOBH star recently publicly apologized for making a “racially insensitive” remark amid an Instagram beef with Kristen Dionne, a black woman who runs a Bravo fan account.
Diana made a crude remark in response to “Philly Diva” pointing out changes in the reality star’s appearance, over the years.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina native took to the post’s comment section, which featured side-by-side snaps of her face.
Diana wrote—“That picture was actually taken At UCLA law school talking about war crimes in my country and setting up human rights clinic that i financed Before war criminals were brought to justice.”
“I was probably 20 or 30 Pounds skinnier and having glam was last thing on my mind,” she continued. “Also looks like picture is manipulated. But shame on you!!!! You and your bulls–t shopping!!!”
Dionne, who reminded the reality star that Bravo stardom comes with social media feedback, pushed her to “keep that same energy with the rest of Instagram that thinks you have no storyline and should be fired. But shout out to my brand new page!”
Diana fired back—“It can’t feel good being a Black content creator.”
Diana was immediately slammed by outraged fans and later posted an apology.
“I assumed ‘Black content creator’ was a title referring to a page that would be focused on snarky content,” Diana explained. “I copied the term because I thought that’s what it meant. I didn’t realize it was referencing to you as a Black woman and a content creator.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays at 8 pm, ET, on Bravo.
