Erika Jayne and Tom Girardi’s Furniture And Personal Property Hitting the Auction Block!
Furniture and other possessions that Erika Jayne once shared with her husband, Tom Girardi, are about to hit the auction block. Items inside the Pasadena, California mansion that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star once called home are set to be auctioned off, according to a new report by Radar Online.
Erika filed for divorce from the fallen lawyer in November 2020, one month before Tom and his law firm, Girardi Keese, were forced into a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Tom is embroiled in multiple lawsuits that accuse him of embezzling funds owed to clients—including orphans and widows of plane crash victims and a gas explosion burn survivor.
The court named a trustee to take over and sell off Tom’s property and assets, in order to pay off his creditors. Tom was eventually forced out of his home, as the bankruptcy case progressed. The house has been on the market for over a year amid multiple price reductions. One of Tom’s creditors, who claims he is owed $2 million, has asked the court to allow the house to be auctioned off as a foreclosure.
Court documents recently revealed that Arsani Sidarous requested that the court move to auction off the 4-bedroom, 9-bathroom house. The property stands as one of Tom’s most valuable assets. The house originally hit the market in May 2021 for $13 million. The price was cut to $11.5 million in June, slashed again to $9.9 million, and reduced again to $8.9 million. The property is currently listed at $7.98 million. Sidarous filed a motion that stated that the house has liens totaling $23 million. He also noted that the trustee had not been able to sell the property since taking control, in January 2021.
The judge has not yet ruled on the motion, but the trustee overseeing the case is now pursuing a sell-off of the contents inside the home. He has requested money to hire an auction company to hold an estate sale. A Steinway piano, furniture, religious items, statues, lamps, rugs, ceramic pieces, glassware, clothing and shoes, and sports memorabilia are among the items that will be put up for sale. The auction is scheduled for September 21 and the trustee is expecting the event to bring in between $191k-$280k.
The reality star is currently in a legal battle to maintain ownership of a pair of earrings valued at $1.4 million. The trustee sued the Bravo star to turn over the earrings, which were purchased in 2007 by her then-husband for $750k. Tom was accused of using money owed to clients to pay for the lavish gift.
Erika asked the judge to allow her to keep the jewelry, claiming that she was an “innocent spouse” with no knowledge of her husband’s alleged misdeeds.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays at 8 pm, ET, on Bravo.
