Wendy Williams is having a hard time coming to terms with her daytime talk show being canceled.

The Wendy Williams Show production company, Debmar Mercury, recently announced that Wendy’s show would be coming to an end this month. In a statement, they said, “The final original episode of The Wendy Williams Show will air on Friday, June 17th, with a video tribute to the iconic host. The series comes to an end after 13 successful years in syndication.”

Despite Debmar’s announcement, sources close to the show’s host say she is in complete denial about the entire situation. They told The Sun, “Despite the announcement yesterday from Debmar Mercury that the show is over, as of last night Wendy was privately telling her close friends that the announcement is lies!” Wendy has been absent from her talk show since September 2021 due to health reasons. Since then, she has had several celebrity hosts fill her spot on daytime television.

The source went on to say, “Wendy is in total and complete denial. If you spoke to her, you wouldn’t know what to believe either — that’s how in denial she is.” They also alleged that one of Wendy’s friends tried to invite her out to celebrate after the June 17 episode but she refused. Per the source, Wendy told them, “No. I’m busy! And that’s a lie!” referring to the end of her daytime talk show. The Wendy Williams Show has been on the air for 13 seasons.

Rumors of the show’s cancellation have been going on for a while, though, like her fans, Wendy is having a hard time with it. “Wendy hasn’t come to terms that she’s done on TV, that Debmar is done with her, and that she doesn’t have a show. She’s in absolute and complete denial,” the source told the outlet.” Wendy doesn’t have a show. She doesn’t have a manager. And she is still not capable of being on TV anyway.”

Another source told The Sun that Wendy wasn’t prevented from filming the last episode of her show. Instead, Wendy refused to be part of the goodbye episode. According to them, she said,  “No!” to production for a pre-taped goodbye. “She’s not at peace with what happened at all,” the source said. They went on to add that the Wendy Williams Show’s host is not processing the news well. In fact, “she is blaming everyone but herself.”
