Fans Rip Mama June Shannon After Instagram Rant — ‘Straighten Up and Be a Momma!’
Mama June Shannon recently took to Instagram to blast subpar event planners—but her followers did not cheer her on. The Mama June: Road to Redemption star uploaded a video on the platform last week, calling out promoters for canceling scheduled personal appearances.
June began—“I mean this is getting really old it’s like someone is out there just trying to make me be quiet or they just are jealous of what we are trying to do about giving back having positive attitudes and actually making changes within mine and @officialsmallz1 but we’re not going to just lay down and let them win we are going to show them that we are going to continue to shine we are continuing to change our life every day…”
Her rant continued—“…if you were going to the Tupelo con in Mississippi or coming to the Dairy Queen in Brunswick Georgia we are sorry but we are going to work on getting a venue so nobody can tell us that after they have a motor the event got many people interested in it and then decide because of a few Karen’s and Kevins that we are disinvites but we have a good idea who a few of those are and it’s OK but baby all I Gotta say to you is it sit back and you might think that A little setback is going to make us go away while it’s gonna do is motivate us more to b successful.”

June clearly values her meet-and-greet events with fans, but many of her followers did not cosign June spending her time on the road, rather than with her own family.
Fans took to the comment section and did not hold back.
One user wrote—“Make your children your #1 priority.”
Another chimed in—“Imagine if you put this same energy in to your kids, ma’am.”
One viewer added—“Bout positive are you for real what are your children and what affects them why is not being a mother your number one priority I mean really do you not understand how your hurting your children I used to adore you but now all my support goes to your children and sister smh.”
Another added—“You’ve lost your fans june. No one gives a shit about you because of how you treat your kids. Straighten up and be a momma and you could have it all back. It’s not just about getting sober that’s a small part of it.”
One fan pointed out that June’s focus on cameo appearances pointed to a disturbing past pattern of behavior.
“This is exactly what her and Geno did with all these meet up and these cheap cameos anything to make money,” the person wrote. “I’m worried she is back to using and if not she might be on the track that is going to take her there. I’m praying she stays sober and makes good choices. When “celebrities” are being like a spokes person for sober people and they don’t take it seriously you make all people in recovery look bad.”
June was recently ordered to pay her daughter, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efrid, $800 monthly in child support. The order turned over full custody of June’s youngest child, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, to Pumpkin.
June later told Page Six’s Virtual Reali-tea that Alana made an independent decision to stay with her sister.
June stated—“People don’t understand the custody thing. It’s not like somebody ‘lost custody.’ In the state of Georgia, you do temporary guardianship every year and [Alana] had been with [Lauryn] in my addiction.”
Pumpkin, who is mom to four children, was awarded temporary guardianship in August 2019, with the permission of Alana’s biological father, amid June’s spiraling drug addiction.
June currently claims that she’s been sober for 29 months.
